2022 was a good year, yet it held so many things there were unexpected and some that seemed not too good.  That is why I want to choose to spend just a few minutes looking back on this year. There were highlights.  Some of those were at the first of the year and some near the end.  We saw the end closing in of the covid virus and the loosening of restrictions that the last two years held over us.  Masks began to go away and life returned to some what normal. Still there was pain.  Still there were and are struggles that God has to help us with.  But what I have experienced in the low times as well as in the celebrations is that God is working and speaking. Psalm 34:15  NASB   The eyes of the Lord are toward the righteous, And His ears are toward their cry for help. This is the first devotion of the new year, 2022 which is set to be an incredible year.  There are so many things I would like to share with you, and I even had a plan to go through a series.  But I have some things on my heart that I need to move through for the next couple days. First, I have been amazed that we have avoided the covid-19 virus, but it has hit our home with only mild symptoms as of this weekend.  I was to officiate a wedding on Saturday and lead our church in the first worship of the near year, but all of that gets pushed to the side while we are quarantined.  Kind of puts things in perspective.  I am grateful for those who stand in for us, serve us and especially those who keep us encouraged and taken care of.  We will get through this.  God is still good.   This will be the only e-devotion for this week and the last week of 2021.  I am writing with the intent on looking back and learning from this year as well as looking forward with joy and determination to a new year full of possibilities. Three words come to mind in this reflection and time of planning.  I pray they will give you some what of a guide. REMEMBER. REPENT. REDEEM. Remember what is in the past, but leave things in the past.  They are to be points of learning and event some what of a trampoline to help you move to the next place. I am excited about the future, yet it really is the things of the past year, and further back, that have set the stage for what is ahead.  God called me to Himself first.  I long for a deeper relationship with Him.  God gave me a passion to serve Him and others.  Throughout my life there have been spiritual markers, as Henry Blackaby called them, that line my life and even set me up for more.  I long for...
