some of my favorite things

Some of my favorite things … this week I have been able to enjoy some of my favorite things in all the world.  You know, I believe that God intends for us to enjoy life.  That is part of the abundance part we heard about in John 10:10. Remember that our enemy is ready to steal from us all that joy God has given, but God intends for us to know His abundance and His blessings.  That does not say God gives us happiness or gives us all we want.  He gives joy and abundance. James 4:6  NASB   But He gives a greater grace. Therefore it says, “God is opposed to the proud, but gives grace to the humble.” Last weekend I was part of the Raceway Ministries team serving at the Martinsville Speedway.  I enjoy interacting with race fans, but some of the greatest conversations aren’t about racing or the weather.  Those conversations are about Jesus. they became missionaries

I heard a great message last night.  It was simple and to the point, and I would like to share some of it with you.  Check out a few verses from Acts 8… Acts 8:3-8  The Message   And Saul just went wild, devastating the church, entering house after house after house, dragging men and women off to jail. Forced to leave home base, the followers of Jesus all became missionaries. Wherever they were scattered, they preached the Message about Jesus. Going down to a Samaritan city, Philip proclaimed the Message of the Messiah. When the people heard what he had to say and saw the miracles, the clear signs of God’s action, they hung on his every word. Many who could neither stand nor walk were healed that day. The evil spirits protested loudly as they were sent on their way. And what joy in the city! Powerful truth about what is going on in that town.  Steven had just been killed.  Watch in those verses what happened to those people and how awesome the outcome was. ...
