  This week I am sharing with you some of my favorite scriptures.  Each has become a “measuring stick” to help guide my decisions and help me seek the Lord.  Remember that there are opportunities all around for you and me.  How will we face those, with or without God’s help?  Will we seek what God wants for us?  I challenge each of us to let God lead, to choose what builds you and those around you. I choose to be thankful.  That really is an important choice.  We can either see the glass as half full or half empty.  We can be a negative or a positive person.  It is a choice. Today I take a “time out” to share what I am thankful for and why I am thankful. 1 Thessalonians 5:18  NLT Be thankful in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you who belong to Christ Jesus. I am thankful for FAITH.  God did it.  He keeps doing it.  And He never ever gives up on me. I am thankful for FAMILY.  These people are a gift from God to me.  My dad and brothers.  My wife and her family.  Our kids and now our grand daughter.  These people bring a smile to my face and give me joy about seeing them or just talking on the phone. I am thankful for FRIENDS.  More gifts from God to me are in the lives of the people around me.  They make me better and stronger.  So many pull out the best in me. I am thankful for the FIELDS...

  Galatians 6:8-9  ESV For the one who sows to his own flesh will from the flesh reap corruption, but the one who sows to the Spirit will from the Spirit reap eternal life. 9 And let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up.  Those verses have been part f a journey I have been on since the beginning of June.  They have spoken to me throughout the last several months, and that is why I share them with you today. When you read Scripture for the first time, there are many things that you catch, but what often amazes me is how new things come out for me when I read it the second or seventh or ninetieth time.  God and His word are so powerful. Deuteronomy 10:11  NLT Then the   Lord   said to me, ‘Get up and resume the   journey, and lead the people to the land I swore to give to their ancestors, so they may take possession of it.’ It really is a rollercoaster.  I am sure you agree in many areas.  Life can be mighty interesting, sometimes difficult and all the time eventful. There are too many people, in my humble opinion, who miss the joy of life because they choose the easy roads. The hurdles, the struggles, often the drama and the growth points bring us to have to deal with things that make us stronger than we would be without them.  If life seems easy, then maybe you aren’t really living. If you never run across a dilemma, then maybe you are playing it safe.
