John's story

John’s story is kind of simple but totally awesome at the same time.  He was one of the people who shared at the Samaritan’s Feet weekend in an interview with Manny Ohonme. People are served all around the world by Samaritan’s Feet.  We have seen that here in our community as well as on the recent mission trip I was on.  The stories seem to be endless and really inspiring. Manny and a group were in Burundi which is on the African continent.  They went to an orphanage to serve children there. That is the kind of place that needs hope and light.  The children brought smiles to all who served, and it was an incredible experience for the residents and the visitors. make a difference

In the next week and a half I am going to spend some time sharing the blessings and challenges of the   back2school   project, and it is pretty easy to see what God is doing.    There are many opportunities ahead for all of us to serve people we encounter. Psalm 34:8     NLT Taste and   see   that the Lord is good. Oh, the joys of those who take refuge in him! Several years ago a friend of mine,   Ron Pegram, worked with Manny and encouraged us to add shoes to our   back2sch...

overflow from #championsofhope

Julie and I had the honor to attending the Champions of Hope weekend with our partner ministry Samaritan’s Feet this past weekend.  It was an incredible time of sharing our back2school ministry, networking with others and learning as well as resting and relaxing together. Before the week gets moving too fast I wanted to share just a few takeaways with you.  These are simply notes from my phone’s notepad that I typed in over the power packed 72 hours where God showed up in great ways and worked in places where I didn’t expect.  Honestly, the overflow is amazing! I pray some of this will inspire and encourage you as it has me… To be successful. Take and keep lots of pictures. Journal and keep a blank notebook. Have a library. --- Michael York. Create a world with zero shoeless children. Count to zero. --- Manny Ohonome. Shoes are an assessory in America. But shoes are really an economic vehicle. -- - Manny Everybody can do great be...
