expect more

What are you expecting from God this week?  No I do not believe that our lives are just here to be a receiver from God, yet when we see what God is doing and expect more of the same we will know we are blessed and be a blessing to others.  Think about it.  Expect it! Ephesians 1:3  NLT   All praise to God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly realms because we are united with Christ. God has blessed you.  Expect more and live in it. Deuteronomy 1:30  NLT   The Lord your God is going ahead of you. He will fight for you, just as you saw him do in Egypt.  God is going ahead of you because He is on your side and fighting for you.  Expect more and live like it. Psalm 108:4  NLT   For your unfailing love is higher than the heavens. Your faithfulness reaches to the clouds. God loves you and He is reaching to you.  Expect more and share with others. Kind of si...

Pray. Serve. Fight.

I continue to share from my time in Cuba the last two weeks, but I also want to ask you to pray for something special going on at The Community Fellowship. This Sunday we are hosting a First Responder Appreciation Day for all police, fire, EMS and 911 workers.  Please help us share this opportunity.  Also, we will be starting Cop Church, a Bible study for first responders that will take place the first Monday and third Wednesday of each month.  Pray for the impact on these special people. Back to Cuba.  As I have shared already one of the best parts of the trip was the time I spent with the leaders of the sports ministry.  These are incredible people who have taken the call of God to serve and disciple athletes.  The opportunities in their ministry really are huge and various. What does it take to have a great team?  I am asking from a spiritual point of view.  How would God desire that we act and live toward our team?  During our time togeth...

stay in the battle

The battle is real.  I am not talking about the battle currently happening with Ukraine and Russian, although we need to pray over the people of both nations and their leaders.  I am talking about the spiritual battle that takes place every day. You and I have the understanding when we choose to follow Jesus that our enemy, who is very real, is set to be against us, distract us or discredit us.  That was the case in the message that I shared with our church yesterday from Nehemiah 6 as the people opposing Nehemiah and God’s people did all they could to stop the rebuilding of the city of Jerusalem.  But the enemy failed. And our enemy will fail too if we take the appropriate steps headed toward victory and not defeated, listening to God rather than the enemy.  Listen in… Ephesians 6:10-13  NLT   A final word: Be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. 11 Put on all of God’s armor so that you will be able to stand firm against all strategies of ...

you are surrounded

You are surrounded.   That might be what you hear when you are in trouble.   It might even look like you are done, defeated and headed for a lose. I have seen movies about battles, old westerns and new military ones, when the enemy surrounded who we thought was the good guy.   Some way the good guys came out winning.   Or did they? Deuteronomy 1:30   NLT The   Lord   you r God is going ahead of   you . He will   fight   for   you , just as   you   saw him do in Egypt. In life we often feel like we are surrounded by the enemy or by the situations of life.   Seems like we are in deep trouble, but it is at that moment that we remember what God has said.   He is for us, with us and fighting the enemy for us. Isn’t that one of the most incredible things to understand?   God is for His children.   The victory is His.   The battle is His.   It is time to give it to Him.   T...
