  Wow.  I am overwhelmed by all that has taken place over the weekend.  Last week I shared what was taking place and even asked you to pray over each one. Colossians 1:3  NLT   We always pray for you, and we give thanks to God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. I will begin with the mission trip that 14 people from our church were blessed to be part of.  We traveled to Virginia Beach to be part of the Serve Tour.  58 churches from 13 different states partnered together to complete 40 different projects.  What excited me the most was to watch our team from The Community Fellowship grow closer and closer.  God was working.  We complete several projects from flower beds at schools, a wall at an animal shelter, helping with a roof, sharing the Gospel door to door on what is called a grill walk, sharing the Gospel on the beach and more.  It was awesome.   We get to serve. 1 Corinthians 12:5  NLT  There are different kinds of service, but we serve the same Lord.   This is one of those times where we learn to do what God has called us to do.  As I shared yesterday, it will be a busy week and weekend for many in our church as we are part of ministry at Emmaus, the speedway and on a mission trip. It all began 24 years ago with Raceway Ministries Martinsville.  One great outreach in our community happens two times per year or more.  We have met and served thousands of race fans from all over the world. Conversations, praying for people, snacks and coffee, golf cart rides and more.   But the best part is we get to talk about Jesus.  It is happening again this weekend! Another thing happened even longer ago.  It was 30 years ago when I first went on a mission trip to Honduras, and most recently in Cuba.  But mission trips happen in so many places from close to home to far off.  We ge...

  This is going to be a full week and provide lots of opportunities.  I ask that you pray for our people and others who are serving in various places. Isaiah 55:6  NLT   Seek the Lord while you can find him. Call on him now while he is near. Several ladies from our church will be part of the Emmaus walk this weekend and join a great number who have been part of this incredible spiritual time.  Pray for them and their families as well as the work God will do in their lives. 1 Peter 4:10  NLT   God has given each of you a gift from his great variety of spiritual gifts. Use them well to serve one another.   Romans 1:9  NLT   God knows how often I pray for you. Day and night I bring you and your needs in prayer to God, whom I serve with all my heart by spreading the Good News about his Son. It is the beginning of a new week, and there is so much going on.  There are needs for us to pray for and to meet.  There are people whose lives have been and are being changed by Jesus all around as well. I just returned from an Emmaus Walk weekend.  These events are incredible opportunities for Christians to grow in their faith and to learn how much God love them and each of us.  I am grateful that we get to encourage others as well as be a part of their walk with God. Maybe someone around you today needs to be encouraged by your walk with God.  Freely talk about what God is doing and how He is working in your life.  That very well might be the light someone needs to guide them, to lighten their load or even get them started following Jesus.   This Sunday is Palm Sunday.  That is the Sunday before Easter that we remember the day that Jesus went in to Jerusalem and was celebrated by all the people around. What seems weird is that just a few days later these same people were part of having Jesus put on the cross and killed as a criminal.  Again, the cross was not meant for Jesus, yet Jesus chose to do for us what we could not do for ourselves. John 12:13  NIV   They took palm branches and went out to meet him, shouting, “Hosanna!” “Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord!” “Blessed is the king of Israel!” Make sure that you are preparing for Easter and thanking God for all He has done! In the next few days I will be part of an Emmaus Walk, and I ask that you join me praying for each person that is on this special Walk. What am I praying for you?   Thanks for asking!  I’d like for you to join me in these prayers, at least in the ones that hit you in the heart. I am praying for the sports ministry in Cuba.  On Monday I head back there to support and encourage Alex who leads that ministry.  We will meet with several of the ministry leaders.  We will plan for a retreat coming in May and other ministry later this year.  I will have the opportunity to preach in a few churches and encourage several pastors.  I pray for open lives, changed lives and the lost to be saved! Psalm 2:8  NLT  Only ask, and I will give you the nations as your inheritance, the whole earth as your possession.
