  Recognizing who God is essential for those who choose to follow Him.  There are so many places where God shows up, where we see Him work and how much He loves us. During the sermon yesterday at The Community Fellowship I shared a story within a story that has really gripped my heart and reminded me of how much our God loves us and wants to work in our lives.  Check out this Scripture and story.   Reminders are good things.  In fact I have heard some of this stuff for years, but because I am not from the country, don’t know sheep very well and have never been a shepherd, these are good reminders. Our church continues through a series titled “Get to Know the Shepherd” where we are looking at Bible passages that teach us about sheep.  Pretty awesome passages so far like Psalm 23 and John 10.  Yesterday we looked at Ezekiel 34, and this is good stuff.  Follow these reminders … Ezekiel 34  NLT  11 “For this is what the Sovereign Lord says: I myself will search and find my sheep. 12 I will be like a shepherd looking for his scattered flock. It is Monday and a new week that is going to offer each of us more opportunities and maybe a few challenges.  My prayer is that we will take our understanding and even more our faith in God and step in to each of those. Yesterday I shared a message with our church about blindness.  God intends to heal our eyes and allow us to see much of what He sees. Here are a few of the things I shared in the message and may this is your story … Isaiah 35:5  NLT   And when he comes, he will open the eyes of the blind and unplug the ears of the deaf. Jesus heals our eyes and our ears.  Literally there were scenes where He healed people who had been unable to see and hear since birth and some for less time.  Each story and miracles reminds us of God’s love. We are also reminded that spiritually hearing and seeing is just as critical.  Let God deal with both for you.  Ask Him to bring that healing.  Ask for others as well. John 4:29-30  NLT   “Come ...

Hello and thanks for checking out the latest e-devotion.  Today will be short.  Very short. But I have a couple thoughts I want to pass your way.  I shared some of this in Sunday’s sermon and also heard a powerful message last week that shared these verses.  Read on and be amazed at what God does. Mark 8:23-25  NASB   Taking the man who was blind by the hand, He brought him out of the village; and after spitting in his eyes and laying His hands on him, He asked him, “Do you see anything?” 24 And he looked up and said, “I see people, for I see them like trees, walking around.” 25 Then again He laid His hands on his eyes; and he looked intently and was restored, and began to see everything clearly. God is the healer.  Do you believe that?  I do and I am grateful that fact transcends our doubting and our own troublesome situations. But do we want away from God when He is in the middle of healing us or working in our lives?  I have to c...

“How can I pray for you?”  That is a question I ask people often.  Sometimes people overlook it.  Sometimes the question catches people off guard.  My favorite ones are those who do a double take, and I realize there is something in their life that is tugging at their heart. There is no greater thing than giving encouragement and love.  That is what Jesus taught us to do.  Just ask a question.  Just have a short conversation, and watch in the conversation how God moves.  Life can get busy.  That is too often too busy to see what God is doing or that people have needs that we can meet.  Look around and remember that God is doing more than we realize.  Check on the person who is broke down on the side of the road who ran out of gas or who has a flat tire.  Speak to the person sitting on the bench.   That one conversation or that simple minute of pray...
