enter through love

It seems that this week we have come to think about love and relationships (well, at least I have).  With Valentine’s Day, some family stuff, time with my wife and more I have come across some articles as well as a lot of Scripture that remind me that relationships take work, and relationships are worth working hard for. One of those articles is from one of my favorite writers Henri Nouwen.  The following is from an entry he wrote titled “Enter the House of Love” … When we enter into the household of God, we come to realize that the fragmentation of humanity and its agony grow from the false supposition that all human beings have to fight for their right to be appreciated and loved.  In the house of God’s love we come to see with new eyes and hear with new ears and thus recognize all people, whatever their race, religion, sex, wealth, intelligence, or background, belong to that same house.  God’s house has no dividing walls or closed doors.  “I am the doo...

what the Father says

Don’t let the world or other people dictate what you believe or think when God has already given you what is true.  Throughout the Bible God has opened up our reality, yet there are times in life and people who just can’t believe what God says. We would rather believe a lie than the truth.  We would rather take what seems reality and is easy rather than what is from God and takes faith.   God put it out there for us.  Dig in and see what God says about you.  Nothing is more important to God than people.  That is you.  That is me.  No, we aren’t perfect, but we are loved by Him. Ephesians 1:3-4  NASB Blessed   be   the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in   the heavenly   places   in Christ,   just as   He chose us in Him before   the foundation of the world, that we would be   holy...

our first home // Monday E-Devotion

This past weekend we moved into our first home that we own. It is ours (and the banks especially since we've not made the first payment yet). It is ours, the banks and Gods. And it feels good. When I think about the time it took to get this place, I understand that God had to prepare lots of stuff and people to make this work, and the largest piece of that was me...in the right place, in the right time, in the right attitude and so much more. It is time to stop for a few minutes and say thank you to God. 2 Corinthians 9:10 (nlt) --- For God is the one who provides seed for the farmer and then bread to eat. In the same way, he will provide and increase your resources and then produce a great harvest of generosity in you. Psalm 27:14 (nlt) --- Wait for the LORD;Be strong and let your heart take courage;Yes, wait for the LORD. Patience is a virtue ... that I rarely have. Yet the older I get, the more I rely on and wait on God. This house is one of those pieces. I need to say t...
