praise God

Praise God for all He has done and is doing.  Fact is back2school is only one place where God is working.  He is working in remote locations and public places, in large groups and when people are all alone.  God has a plan to bring even more people to Him. Take some time to thank God, no praise God, for what He is doing, what you have seen, how you have experienced God’s work and where He is leading you in the days ahead.   Psalm 26:12  NLT   Now I stand on solid ground, and I will publicly praise the Lord.   The more I see Him and the more I want praise Him.  Then the stronger I can stand!   Psalm 103:2  NLT   Let all that I am praise the Lord; may I never forget the good things he does for me.   The more I praise Him the less I forget Him.  Let’s praise God more.   Ephesians 1:3  NLT   All praise to God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the hea...

grace is valuable

Since late last week there has been a verse that has continued to run through my brain.  In fact the underlying pieces of the verses, in context before and after, would allow us to lose ourselves and gain Christ.  Literally I mean we can find peace when life is less about us and more about God. When things are the opposite, there is trouble.  In fact there is less God when there is more about me or self.  Find out what makes the most sense, find out what helps you find more peace and pursue it with everything you have. There will come a day when you have to get honest about the things that don’t matter.  I mean there are things that we seek after that get us no where and have no eternal value.  There is the biggest question.  What is valuable to us? So, back to the place I started.  Here is the verse that keeps coming back to mind and making its way through my heart. Galatians 2:21  NLT I do not treat the grace of God as...

be a friend who inspires

There are people that make life much sweeter.   Do you know some of those people?   These are the ones who I spoke of yesterday who are friends that encourage and inspire us. My question for us to consider today is this: am I the friend that inspires the people around me to do more, to think deeper and to live a life of meaning?   Let me pause there for a moment and make a confession.   I do not believe, not for a moment, that the plan from God is for us to be busier.   It is my firm belief that our great and gracious God desires for us to live with meaning.   That is a choice each of us has to make for ourselves. Meaning comes from understanding who we are.   I am a child of God by God’s grace and His gift of Jesus.   My stand is one of brokenness and forgiveness, strength in the midst of weakness because of God, confidence based on what God says is true and not on feelings I have.   Meaning most often begins when we begin to...
