God is speaking

  Sometimes you just know that God is speaking to you.  It is obvious.  You don’t have to question.  In fact you need to stop questions and listen in a bit more. Yesterday was one of those days for me.  I began a new sermon series at The Community titled “Give THANKS” and spoke from 1 Chronicles 16 of a psalm of thanks from David.  Last night I attended a meeting and heard an awesome sermon by a missions leader.  Guess what passage he used.  It was 1 Chronicles 16. Stop right there.  I had to ask (and I still and asking) God what He wants me to hear and learn.  I have already come away with a few things. The message I shared was about deciding to give thanks before other things or people led us away from being thankful.  The missions sermon from the same passage was about the people of God sharing with the world God’s message.  Both have a good foundation in the Scripture.  Both are pretty clear. choose to love your neighbor

This week we have spent quite a bit of time thinking about our neighbors.  Last Sunday’s message in our FEARLESS series reminded us that when we live with less fear that we are able to live with more love. In what I share today I want us to think about our neighbors.  Not about who they are.  Not about how hard it is to love people or how we should love them.  Think about what happens when we choose to simply love people the way God loves us. Romans 13:8 NASB Owe   nothing   to anyone except to   love   one another; for he who   loves his neighbor has fulfilled   the   law. We owe people love like we are called to love God.  So, when we love, we are completing the law referred to in that verse.  The law doesn’t have a hold on us because we truly do live in the time of grace, but we do have the opportunity of letting our love be something that helps others see and know Go...
