grateful for the heroes of freedom

There are some people that really are heroes.   They don’t wear a cape and a mask.   They don't even wear a jersey from one of our favorite teams.   No, these people, both men and women, wear a uniform that has a patch on it that we all recognize.   Their commitment, their actions have brought us great freedom.   But often their actions meet with aggression.   On their uniform is at least one common patch that is recognizable across the globe.   It is a flag.   It is the red, white and blue with stars and stripes that reminds the world of our freedom. We are blessed.   Whether you see the remains of the beginning of our nation as it was founded on Christian principles and on freedom to worship God, it remains.   We see pieces of it.   Sometimes they are foggy, but they remain true. Veteran's Day: I'm a grateful American

There are places you go and you see a military presence one of my favorite places is in an airport.  Over the last few trips I have taken the last few years I have noticed the many military people traveling from place to place across this globe of ours.  A couple times I had conversations. The people I met were guys and girls, younger and older, and serving in various parts of our nation’s military.  My heart was always over come with gratitude for the hours, days, months and years given to defend and fight for the honor of bring free.  My mind turns back many years to a time when I was visiting my dad’s parents when they lived in view of the mountains of Colorado.  I noticed in of their closets military uniforms.  My grandfather first served during World War II, and my uncle served much later.  Another of my grandfathers was in the army.  Another uncle was in the Air Force and was a pilot who trained other pilots. ...
