pray for Cuba

Psalm 2:8 NLT   Only ask, and I will give you the nations as your inheritance, the whole earth as your possession. It is time.  This week I get to go back to Cuba to serve on another mission trip.   All this began in February of 2019 and continues through this time.  Over these six years I have been to Cuba 18 times with hundreds of others.  All for one purpose, and that is to share Jesus with others and support the ministry of MADEM sports ministry in Cuba. What an honor to be part of a team making such a difference, but this trip is a different.  Cuba is in crisis and has been for a long time.  Each day things get worse and more needs arise. That is why I am letting you know there will not be more e-devotions this coming week, and I ask you to join in praying for Cuba and the sports ministry.  Here are some ways to pray. First, pray for the country of Cuba, it’s leaders and the need for support and freedom.  The lack of electricity a...

needs in Cuba

Why Cuba?  Thanks for asking, and because of the critical needs in the nation of Cuba I ask that you join me in this incredible opportunity for missions   On Monday I get to return to Cuba!  It is an honor to serve the Lord with a group of people that love others, serve with all their heart and have a passion to see lives change.  I will travel with Bob Texidor from Missouri and seek to encourage Alex and the team in Cuba as well as meet some needs they have.   Pray for the sports ministry work in Cuba.  The sports ministry team works with athletes and coaches and is connected to the Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA).  The big goal is to share the Gospel and meet many needs. Let me know if you would like to help.  Donations are appreciated, but the biggest need is for prayer.     On every trip we are able to meet needs, and this time we will do that once again.  High on the news list are the salaries for the team in...

Cuba mission trip report

Proverbs 15:30  NLT   Fear of the Lord teaches wisdom; humility precedes honor. Thank you to everyone who supported and prayed for the past mission trip to Cuba.  Since this is the first e-devotion after I have returned home, I will share with you some of the points of celebration, some of my take aways and what God did. It was such a blessing to have Julie return to Cuba with me.  We served at Ebenezer church in the area of Havana known as Guanabacoa.  It was a great time of ministry and encouraging Pastor Julio and his wife Arelis. I am grateful for the FCA sports ministry team in Cuba.  Roberto Texidor from Missouri leads the US board, and I enjoy traveling with him.  Alex is the Cuban leader for sports ministry.  He and his family are a great blessing.  His team are amazing people.  One of the things that I love is that this team really are pastors in their community who serve athletes and their families.  Sharing Jesus a...

mission Cuba

Tomorrow we get to return to Cuba to be part of the sports ministry there!  It is an honor to serve the Lord with a group of people that I love others.  These incredible people serve with all their hearts and have a passion to see lives change for Christ.   Please pray for the ministry work in Cuba and for this mission trip.  Julie and I will be with Ebenezer church this weekend.  It will be awesome to serve along side Pastor Julio Cesar and his wife Arelis as well well our ministry partners Diocelis and Belkis (my favorite translator).  Next week I get to host a brand new mission team serving with us from Boone, North Carolina and helping with a baseball tournament.  Much of this work is with a team that serves athletes and coaches and is connected to the Fellowship of Christian Athletes or FCA.  Alex and his team serve and share the Gospel and meet so many needs of those who are hungry and need hope.    The economy in Cuba is no...

last mission trip update

As you read this I am either preparing to head home or on my way.  Please pray for safety as I travel. But I want to say a huge THANK YOU to each and every person that has made this trip possible.  From the friend who gave me $5 to the grant of $3000 from another sports ministry group, every part of this trip has been set in motion and happened because the gracious hand of God. And there is more to come.  Keep on watching and listening as I will be sharing how God worked during this trip.  I am grateful for you. Nehemiah 2:18  NLT   Then I told them about how the gracious hand of God had been on me, and about my conversation with the king. They replied at once, “Yes, let’s rebuild the wall!” So they began the good work.

update from mission trip

Continue to pray for the mission trip I am on in Cuba.  As you read this I am serving the FCA team and their families at a retreat.  Ask God to encourage each person. Thank you for your continued prayers and support.  I also ask you to pray for Julie and my family who are at home, and I miss them a great deal. 1 John 3:1  NLT   See how very much our Father loves us, for he calls us his children, and that is what we are! But the people who belong to this world don’t recognize that we are God’s children because they don’t know him.

it is time for a mission trip

Please pray for me and the team I will serve with in Cuba the next 10 days.  It is an honor to partner with the Sports ministry in Cuba (FCA or known as MADEM in Cuba).  This ministry is making a difference in the lives of people across the country. How is that?  Thanks for asking. FCA serves athletes and coaches through all kinds of avenues with the intent of sharing the Gospel with each and every person.  Along the way the team of FCA staff (more than 10 people) are meeting needs of their neighbors, church members and others.  That happens in all kinds of ways, and that keeps me even more excited about this incredible work. Philippians 2:9-11  NLT   Therefore, God elevated him to the place of highest honor and gave him the name above all other names, 10 that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, 11 and every tongue declare that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father. Over the n...

pray for ministry in Cuba

It is almost that time again to go back to Cuba to serve with the FCA ( MADEM sports ministry).  This team of awesome people is making a huge difference for Jesus.  It is crazy that I have been part of this ministry for 6 years, since the winter of 2019.   1 Corinthians 14:3  NLT   But one who prophesies strengthens others, encourages them, and comforts them.   My purpose in Cuba is simple.  I get the honor of encouraging those who are part of this ministry and their families.  Often ministry is tough, and people feel like they are alone.  Partnering with these kingdom minded people who are passionate about sharing Jesus really is incredible.   On this trip my friend Robert Texidor and I will be traveling across Cuba from West to East and have meetings for church and sports ministry leaders in several locations.  Here are some ways you can pray…   First, please pray for the ministry team members and their families. ...

Day 8 in Cuba

We have just come off and incredible weekend, and it is day 8 of the mission trip in Cuba.  Thank you to all who have been praying for this trip, the mission team and the impact it will have on those we serve.   Please don’t stop praying. Last week Alex and I served with a mission team in the mountains of southern Cuba.  There were several challenges, but God gave us safety, provision and opportunity to serve some of the sweetest people I have ever met.  No running water… sporadic electricity generated by a small, logo dammed up river, no transportation other than animals, limited food sources and more.  These people love the Lord and sharing their faith with others. Over the weekend we made our way back to Havana.  On Friday our vehicle broke down leaving us on the side of the road for several hours.  We then boarded a bus and rode 14 hours.  We arrived safely and even got some rest. Sunday was so, so good.  We visited two partner churches....
