thank a veteran

This is a day set aside to remember the men and women who have fought for the freedom of our country.  I am grateful for those who began our county and for those who have served our country.  Many friends have through the years given their time and their hearts to fight for our nation.  I am grateful for each.  Some of my relatives including my grandfathers and an uncle served our country.  Some of those were serving during time of war.  Some of those served during times of peace.  But each of them have taken part in what is a huge blessing to each of us who are citizens of the United States.   If you served, I say THANK YOU and may God bless you.  If you know someone who has served, tell them that you appreciate them and their service to our nation. Few people who live on this planet realize the freedom that we have.  Few of us realize that we have to fight to maintain our freedom through standing up for what is right inside...

Veteran's Day: I'm a grateful American

There are places you go and you see a military presence one of my favorite places is in an airport.  Over the last few trips I have taken the last few years I have noticed the many military people traveling from place to place across this globe of ours.  A couple times I had conversations. The people I met were guys and girls, younger and older, and serving in various parts of our nation’s military.  My heart was always over come with gratitude for the hours, days, months and years given to defend and fight for the honor of bring free.  My mind turns back many years to a time when I was visiting my dad’s parents when they lived in view of the mountains of Colorado.  I noticed in of their closets military uniforms.  My grandfather first served during World War II, and my uncle served much later.  Another of my grandfathers was in the army.  Another uncle was in the Air Force and was a pilot who trained other pilots. ...
