our ability to see

It is Monday and a new week that is going to offer each of us more opportunities and maybe a few challenges.  My prayer is that we will take our understanding and even more our faith in God and step in to each of those. Yesterday I shared a message with our church about blindness.  God intends to heal our eyes and allow us to see much of what He sees. Here are a few of the things I shared in the message and may this is your story … Isaiah 35:5  NLT   And when he comes, he will open the eyes of the blind and unplug the ears of the deaf. Jesus heals our eyes and our ears.  Literally there were scenes where He healed people who had been unable to see and hear since birth and some for less time.  Each story and miracles reminds us of God’s love. We are also reminded that spiritually hearing and seeing is just as critical.  Let God deal with both for you.  Ask Him to bring that healing.  Ask for others as well. John 4:29-30  NLT   “Come ...

able to see

Following is a devotion I shared in April a couple years ago.  I pray that God gives us the ability to see.  Read on and have a great day… Luke 4:18 NLT “The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me, Because He anointed Me to preach the gospel to the poor. He has sent Me to proclaim release to the captives, And recovery of sight to the blind, To set free those who are oppressed,   Jesus read those words in the temple during His ministry.  Right after reading this from the scroll and from the book of Isaiah, Jesus said that this Scripture was fulfilled in their hearing.   There was so much more to that than words.  It was a new day.  Many who had been slaves would be set free.   Psalm 146:8  NLT The Lord opens the eyes of the blind. The Lord lifts up those who are weighed down. The Lord loves the godly.   Spiritual sight is needed by all people....

our eyes

One of the most important parts of our body are our eyes.  When we cannot see, we have a problem.  When one of our senses, the other senses are heightened.  Yet it seems that our sight and the health of our eyes is one of the most important thing we can have. God says the same thing about us spiritually.  We need to be able to see physically, but we also must be able to see spiritually. There are all sorts of things and happenings that keep our spiritual eyes from being healthy. Matthew 6:22  NLT “Your eye is like a lamp that provides light for your body. When your eye is healthy, your whole body is filled with light. The eye is the lamp of the body.  Make sure you stay healthy and clear of the things that hamper us and our hearts for God.  To have great spiritual sight is to have a life hull of light. Hebrews 12:2  NLT We do this by keeping our eyes on Jesus, the champion who initiates and perfects our faith. Because of the joy awaiting hi...

God has His eye on you

2 Chronicles 16:9 NLT "The eyes of the Lord search the whole earth in order to strengthen those whose hearts are fully committed to him..."   That statement floors me.  You see we often miss the very best of God because our hearts are turned in the wrong direction.  We may not be looking in the right direction.  More likely, we have chosen stuff that keeps our eyes, minds and hearts away from God. God is willing.  He wants to see people know Him more.  That begins with me, but it doesn't end with me.  In fact, the truth is that we are tied to others who need to know Him.  What God wants to bless is our lives with purpose and joy so that we will give it away.  How are you giving away or spreading your purpose and your joy? The eyes...ever noticed that this is the part of the body that seems to tell what is going on with a person?  When someone is sick, thei...
