we are the reason

For the past month or so I have been listening to and enjoying music from my childhood.  Specifically early Christian music. Some of the songs have brought back memories, many brought smiles, some even brought tears, but each one reminds me where I came from and even how blessed I have been.  Music does shape and encourage us.   One song came across today, and I have to share with you.  It is called “We Are the Reason” by David Meece.  Check out some of the words from this song. As little children, we would dream of Christmas morn And all the gifts and toys we knew we'd find But we never realized a baby born one blessed night Gave us the greatest gift of our lives… As the years went by, we learned more about gifts And giving of ourselves And what that means On a dark and cloudy day A man hung crying in the rain Because of love, because of love I finally found a reason for living It's in giving every part of my heart to Him In all that I do, every word tha...

goodbye yesterday

Don’t you love it when God speaks to you?  Often in Scripture.  Some times in song.  Could be through other people, conversations and situations.  But God gets our attentions and shares something we need to hear. For me there are many different ways, but the Bible is the one that most often shows off what God is says and how He is leading.  He also uses songs, and there was a song yesterday that caught my attention and hit my heart. The song this time is Goodbye Yesterday by Elevation.  Here are some of the lyrics: Goodbye, yesterday I'm livin' in the light of a new day I won't waste another minute in my old ways Praise the Lord, I've been born again Goodbye, yesterday I'm livin' in the light of a new day I won't waste another minute in my old ways Praise the Lord, I've been born again Oh, I've been born again Again and again and again and again You rescued me out of the mess I was in You traded my sorrow for something to sing Now, I'm dancin...

the battle belongs to the Lord

2 Chronicles 20:17  NASB   You need not fight in this battle; take your position, stand and watch the salvation of the Lord in your behalf, Judah and Jerusalem.’ Do not fear or be dismayed; tomorrow, go out to face them, for the Lord is with you.” I woke with a song on my mind.  This happens a lot.  But at times the song is stronger and seems to have a meaning.  Therefore, I will remind you today what I believe God is saying to me. The song is The Battle Belongs to the Lord .  It is by Phil Wickham When all I see is the battle, You see my victory When all I see is the mountain, You see a mountain moved And as I walk through the shadow, Your love surrounds me There's nothing to fear now, for I am safe with You So when I fight, I'll fight on my knees With my hands lifted high Oh God, the battle belongs to You And every fear I lay at Your feet I'll sing through the night Oh God, the battle belongs to You And if You are for me, who can be against me? Yea...

resurrection song

Often I will wake up with a song on my mind.  One of those even today was Resurrection Song by Rend Collective.  Very simple song, but this is a powerful message.  Read some of the lyrics. Because You're risen I can rise Because You're living I'm alive Because Your cross is powerful Because You rose invincible I can get up off the floor This is my resurrection day Nothing's gonna hold me in the grave This is my resurrection day Nothing's gonna hold me down Say goodbye to my yesterdays Ever since I met You I am changed This is my resurrection day Nothing's gonna hold me down Because You rolled my stone away Because my debt has all been paid Because You stand in victory Because You crushed the enemy I can get up off the floor (get up off the floor) The good news is the good news 'Cause You chose the rugged cross The good news is the good news 'Cause You rose up from the dust Your gospel is the power That is saving all of us So, I can get up off the floo...

my Jesus

Let me tell you about my Jesus.  That is the title of a great song.  It is also the reality for me and those who choose to attach their lives to faith in Jesus. My life has been changed because God loves me so much.  Without that truth I am stuck and in of trouble.  That is why I challenge you to think about the difference Jesus has made in your life.   Be convinced that Jesus is the son of God, savior who went to the cross and alive now after completing the things that makes eternal life and salvation possible.  Here is the song “My Jesus”…   Are you past the point of weary? Is your burden weighin' heavy? Is it all too much to carry? Let me tell you 'bout my Jesus Do you feel that empty feeling? 'Cause shame's done all its stealin' And you're desperate for some healin' Let me tell you 'bout my Jesus   He makes a way where there ain't no way Rises up from an empty grave Ain't no sinner that He can't save Let me tell you 'bout my Jesus H...
