cause and effect

Outcomes are always something I am thinking about.  But you know the “cause and aeffect” thinking some times goes a little further than I think or understand.  I am talking about in the scientific world or physics and stuff I just don’t understand.   Here is something I do understand and continue to learn… Proverbs 26:27  NASB   One who digs a pit will fall into it, And one who rolls a stone, it will come back on him. That is a very simple cause and effect.  The outcome is based on what you do and why you do it.  Is God involved?  Yes, He is.   That is why we have to learn from God (like listening to the Holy Spirit and reading the Bible).  Often Proverbs is the wisdom I need for a particular situation or thought.  God and wise people help us understand things. Lean on those who know.  Do what is right always. I turn our attention today to a “cause and effect” that sticks in my mind.  I have shared these verses many times ...

NOTE: most of this post first appeared in March of 2007 but continues to speak truth. Push me.  Drive me.  Give me something to live for. That is what lots of church people expect from their leaders.  Yet God has not called your church or mine to meet all the needs and not even to feed you spiritual.  God calls us to help people learn to eat spiritually, to love God and to chase after Him. I am greatly challenged by Mark Batterson of National Community Church in DC.  His book In the Pit with a Lion on a Snowy Day is an in-depth look at vision and gives clarity to people looking to God and who desire to be part of a purpose driven adventure that only God could put together. In that book Batterson gave us what he called the Manifesto : Quit living as if the purpose of life is to arrive safely at death.  Set God-sized goals.  Pursue God-ordained passions.  Go after a dream that is destined to fail without divine interve...
