make some lists

Some of the most important things in life have nothing to do with what we have but more with what or who has us.  Take some time to make a list.  Make two lists. List the things that you cannot live without.  List the people you cannot live without.  Those will be the ones that get you through the dark and hard times. Here are just a few of the things on my two lists… Acts 15:11  NLT   We believe that we are all saved the same way, by the undeserved grace of the Lord Jesus Lets begin with faith.  Only by the goodness and grace of God are we held, changed and kept forever.  God and faith are top on both of my lists. Proverbs 18:22  NLT   The man who finds a wife finds a treasure, and he receives favor from the Lord. This one is said and should be shouted at the top of my lungs.  Julie is a blessing to me.  Family is a treasure we cannot take for granted, and those closest to you have extreme value. Psalm 127:3  NLT ...

who's next?

Who is next?  I mean who is the person that God working on.  It might be that God is working on this specific person that they would accept Him as savior.  It might be that God is working in a person that He is calling to a specific ministry to serve in some way. Because you and I are human and not God we don’t know exactly what God is doing.  Since that is the case we need to understand how we can help people get closer to God as well as to respond to His call in their lives. Pray. Romans 10:1  NLT   Dear brothers and sisters, the longing of my heart and my prayer to God is for the people of Israel to be saved. Colossians 1:11  NLT   We also pray that you will be strengthened with all his glorious power so you will have all the endurance and patience you need. May you be filled with joy, Encourage. 1 Timothy 2:12  NLT   We pleaded with you, encouraged you, and urged you to live your lives in a way that God would consider worthy. ...

who is in the room

Look across the room.  There are some incredible people all around.  I am often, and I mean often, stunned by the amount of things God is doing in the lives of the people I meet as well as at the great people who I get to be around. Hebrews 12:1  NLT   Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a huge crowd of witnesses to the life of faith, let us strip off every weight that slows us down, especially the sin that so easily trips us up. And let us run with endurance the race God has set before us.  Well, some of those people have gone on to heaven.  They aren’t lost.  These have gained their new home, not their wings.  I will my dad and mom.  There are many who I miss and grateful for. But there are still some incredible people in the room that have made my life so much richer and stronger.  Let me tell you about a few of them (I am relating this to the convention I attended the last three days and some of the people I saw): Years ago I ...

who I am

Last week was spent doing a lot of thinking and catching up.  But one of the things that sticks out to me most is what God was teaching me about myself.  Who am I?  That is a great and important question. I heard this from a preacher I listen to, “God cares more about the dreamer than he does the dream.  God cares more about our character than He does what we do.” 1 Peter 2:25  NIV   For “you were like sheep going astray,” but now you have returned to the Shepherd and Overseer of your souls. When things get hard or confusing or stressing, simply return.  Listen to God.  See what His plan is and how much He loves you.  A shepherd was there for the sheep to guide and protect, to provide and to give peace.  That is where the greatest amount of our growth will happen. Be at peace.  Know you are protected and provided for by the one who loves you most.  That is why spending time with God and allowing Him to build our character is so...

who God is

Psalm 28:6-9    NLT Praise the   Lord !     For he has heard my cry for mercy.     The   Lord   is my strength and shield.     I trust him with all my heart.     He helps me, and my heart is filled with joy.     I burst out in songs of thanksgiving.     The   Lord   gives his people strength.     He is a safe fortress for his anointed king.     Save your people!     Bless Israel, your special possession.    Lead them like a shepherd,   and carry them in your arms forever. After having a personal experience with God we are able to share with others who need to have similar experiences.    Right? By sharing we open the door for God to work similar ways in the lives of the people around us.    This could be those closest to us, like family or co-workers.    Could be that some random person hears your story an...

who you are

It is time to deal with our fear and allow God to increase our faith. Galatians 3:29  NASB And  if  you belong to  Christ ,  then  you are  Abraham's   descendants ,  heirs according  to  promise . Know your place, your calling from God and the direction you are going in.  To know God’s promises aren’t just for the people in the Bible or for the extra religious people is incredible.  This will change us and the people around us. Philippians 1:3  NLT Every time I think of you, I give thanks to my God. That was written from Paul to some of the people in a place where Paul visited some time before. But this verse is repeated in the Bible many times.  It is also repeated in our hearts when we see what God is doing. Isaiah 41:10   NASB ‘Do not fear, for I am with you; Do not anxiously look about you, for I am your God. I will strengthen yo...
