The generous will
prosper; those who refresh others will themselves be refreshed.
Today
is a special day for the non-profit and church world. It is called “giving Tuesday”. It is attached to what we have just come
through known as Cyber Monday (shopping online) and Black Friday (the special
shopping day right after thanksgiving.
Giving
Tuesday is meant to be the ASK day. You
will most likely see articles, email, mail and much more asking for your
generous donation. I will not disappoint
you either. Here is the ask for our
ministry.
There
are many different things I would like to ask you to give to, but I start with
telling you something that makes me very happy and builds my passion. Yesterday some of our men and I were able to
load two 40 foot containers that are now headed to Puerto Rico to help those
who have been hit by the hurricane that destroyed much of the area. These bunk beds shipped in each container
were originally built to help mission teams helping with recovering from super
storm Sandy. They have been used in a
couple other locations, and now they head off to their new home. Pray for Puerto Rico. Pray for those serving there and for the
resources needed to help. You can give
at sendrelief.org which is one of our partner agencies.
Now
I ask that you help our ministry. You
can go to thecommunityfellowship.org or to e-devotion.com and click GIVE ONLINE
to be part of our ministry. Choose where
your donation will go. Give to the
“general fund” and help with the day to day ministry, benevolent and operation
of the church. Choose the “vision fund”
to help with the completion of our new campus.
Click “back 2 school” to be part of the 2018 outreach to students. Choose “the community dream center” to help
with our transitional house, homeless or feeding ministry. And finally you can click “youth fundraiser”
to assist our students prepare for those mission trip next summer.
Also
we are in the mission of our Christmas mission offering. This is our once a year offering that goes to
take the message of Jesus around the world.
It begins here in our community and also goes to the farthest points on
the planet. You can give to this at
church or send your gift to the church (PO BOX 388, Collinsville, VA
24078). Your gift will go completely to
missions.
Thank
you for being generous. I like to give
not just because it makes me feel good, but I give because God calls us to
serve others with our resources. May
your gifts and mine make God’s kingdom grow by leaps and bounds.
It
is GIVING TUESDAY. Please give. Thank you!

Timothy 6:18 NLT
Tell
them to use their money to do good. They should be rich in good works and generous to those in
need, always being ready to share with others.
