and through him God reconciled everything to himself. He made peace with everything in heaven and on earth by means of Christ’s blood on the cross.
We are in trouble without the cross of Jesus. Through the death of Jesus we are able to receive eternal life. We have salvation. And the cross was the plan of God to show is His love.
After Jesus died some wanted to see His scars after he was raised from the dead. Specifically it was the guy we call doubting Thomas. Jesus showed Him the scars in His hands and side. It was evidence of what happened and of God’s love.
There are other scars in our lives that remind us that God is good. Some scars tell us that our experience and life matters. That is why something caught my attention and has made me think of the meaning behind the scars.
Here are some of the lyrics from I Am They’s song Scarsthat has giving me much to think about:
So I'm thankful for the scars
'Cause without them I wouldn't know Your heart
And I know they'll always tell of who You are
So forever I am thankful for the scars
'Cause without them I wouldn't know Your heart
And I know they'll always tell of who You are
So forever I am thankful for the scars
I can see, I can see
How you delivered me
In Your hands, in Your feet
I found my victory
I can see, I can see
How You delivered me
In Your hands, in Your feet
I found my victory
How you delivered me
In Your hands, in Your feet
I found my victory
I can see, I can see
How You delivered me
In Your hands, in Your feet
I found my victory
The song says I am thankful for the scars. Does that mean that we should be thankful for the pain and the struggle? I will answers no. I am not thankful, but I am honest that without the lows of life you could not experience the best of the highs.
The scars remind us that there will be victory after the pain. They remind us that the struggle has meaning. Be thankful for the scars.
