Serve the Lord with gladness; Come before Him with joyful singing.

Serving really is a blessing. I believe that is in the time we choose to serve that we find joy and even find our real purpose in life.

Have you been struggling? Are you questioning your purpose? Then serve.

This weekend affords us the opportunity to serve through #back2school. It is one of our favorite times of the year. We are able to serve hundreds of students and their families, but it takes hundreds to serve.

That verse above… reminds me that we really serve God as we serve others. We honor God when we serve!

Psalm 34:22 NLT

But the Lord will redeem those who serve him. No one who takes refuge in him will be condemned.

There are plenty of benefits for serving. Share your heart. Live with hope. Put on a smile. Prepare your hands for work. Mark out some time on your calendar, and come join a great group of people to serve.

We each have some time. You might can give a day or just a couple hours. Serve. Join in.

Galatians 5:13 NLT

For you have been called to live in freedom, my brothers and sisters. But don’t use your freedom to satisfy your sinful nature. Instead, use your freedom to serve one another in love.

NOTE: there is a back2school volunteer meeting tonight at 6pm for all those who wish to serve Friday or Saturday. Please join us. If you have not picked up your back2school t-shirt, you can do that tonight. Friday we serve special needs children beginning at 8:30am. Saturday we begin at 6:55am. Serve at The Community or any of the locations doing back2school!

One of the most powerful preachers, writers and leaders of our time, in my opinion, is Francis Chan. inspiration from C.S. Lewis

There are many people, past and present, who get our attention by what they write or say or share. For me C.S. Lewis is one of those. He was a prolific writer who continues to grab the attention of thinkers from many different points of view. Lewis first grabbed my attention when I was in 5 th grader, and our teacher, Mrs. Foy, shared The Chronicles of Narnia with our class. It was a powerful time that this dreamer opened doors to thinking like I had never lived before. He wrote of faith, of far off places and of strong figures who found their character rooted deep in God. C.S. Lewis was born in 1898 and died in 1963, 7 years before I was born.
