promises of God


There are so many things rolling through our minds and even through our lives.  Several articles have caught my attention as we deal with the Coronavirus and all that it has been doing around us.

Yesterday one particular blog post hit home with me.  It was simply a list of 16 promises that God gives us.  Thanks to author Vernon Williams (www.vernonlwilliams.com) for this post.  Take a few minutes to read through what he shared:

Focus On These 16 Promises From God


When the inevitable problems arise, it is easy to think you are facing them alone. God wants you to know that is not the case - ever. In fact, He unequivocally promises that He will:

1. Fight for you. - Exodus 14:14 

2. Give you strength if you are weary. - Isaiah 40:29 

3. Increase your power when you are weak. - Isaiah 40:29 

4. Be with you. - Isaiah 43:2 

5. Remain steadfast in his love for you. - Isaiah 54:10 

6. Give you wisdom. - James 1:5-7 

7. Forgive your sins. - 1 John 1:9 

8. Answer your prayers. - Mark 11:24 

9. Meet all your needs. - Philippians 4:19 

10. Deliver you from your troubles. - Psalm 50:15 

11. Be your refuge. - Psalm 9:9 

12. Provide peace. - Philippians 4:7 

13. Guard your heart and mind. - Philippians 4:7 

14. Make your path straight. - Proverbs 3:6 

15. Satisfy your desires with good things. - Proverbs 103:5 

16. Maintain your name in the book of life. - Revelation 3:5 
So, there you have them - 16 unequivocal promises from the God who cannot lie. (Titus 1:2)

Have you heard of EDITH BURNS?

Edith Burns was a wonderful Christian who lived in San Antonio, Texas . She was the patient of a doctor by the name of Will Phillips. Dr. Phillips was a gentle doctor who saw patients as people. wash feet, sharing hope

  John 13:4-5,14 NLT  So he got up from the table, took off his robe, wrapped a towel around his waist, 5 and poured water into a basin. Then he began to wash the disciples’ feet, drying them with the towel he had around him… 14 And since I, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you ought to wash each other’s feet. Jesus set the example we follow.  He served.  He valued and gave value to others.  That is why we choose to serve. For 18 years our church has shared an outreach called back2school, and for 16 of those years we have chosen to give students brand new shoes and socks as well as washing their feet.  It is one of the most important parts of this event. Washing feet is a humbling experience where both the give and the receiver learn how to share some moments that might change their lives.  Jesus said we should do this.  See the verse above.  Follow His example, do what He did, and give far more than you will ever know....
