building our faith

There are so many things wrong that we can talk about. In fact we live in a day where most people want to agree, and someone is going to be offended. Why does this keep going on?

Please know that what I am sharing is not up for debate. It is simply truth based on the foundation that I choose to stand on. It is all about Jesus. On Monday I reminded us that the Gospel is the central theme and the reason why the church is around. Yesterday I shared about the power that comes from making Godly character part of our lives.

Romans 5:1-5 NASB

Therefore, having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, 2 through whom also we have obtained our introduction by faith into this grace in which we stand; and we exult in hope of the glory of God. 3 And not only this, but we also exult in our tribulations, knowing that tribulation brings about perseverance; 4 and perseverance, proven character; and proven character, hope; 5 and hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out within our hearts through the Holy Spirit who was given to us.

It all begin with faith. Stay with God and have peace. There will be times of trouble that we have to get through.

But how will we make it through? Again, it is about our choices. Choose to look at things differently. That choice will allow you to grow in faith and be a stronger, better person.

Because God has given us His love or poured out His love on us we can get through. It all builds on each other. The struggle needs our perseverance and adds to our character which builds our hope in God.

Take a new look at the world around us and see the opportunities that God places in front of us. May our choices help us hope even more in God and our faith be strengthened.

inspiration from C.S. Lewis

There are many people, past and present, who get our attention by what they write or say or share. For me C.S. Lewis is one of those. He was a prolific writer who continues to grab the attention of thinkers from many different points of view. Lewis first grabbed my attention when I was in 5 th grader, and our teacher, Mrs. Foy, shared The Chronicles of Narnia with our class. It was a powerful time that this dreamer opened doors to thinking like I had never lived before. He wrote of faith, of far off places and of strong figures who found their character rooted deep in God. C.S. Lewis was born in 1898 and died in 1963, 7 years before I was born.
