one. 3 days of Thanksgiving

Day One. Yes.  Over the next three ways I will examine some of the things that comes from a life that is leveraged for God and constantly moving with Him and for Him.  The natural outcome really is gratitude or giving thanks.

1 Thessalonians 5:18  NASB

in everything give thanks; for this is the will of God for you in Christ Jesus.

On this first day of Thanksgiving week I choose to be reminded that one of the biggest blessings in our lives is faith.  The next two days we will I will share about family and freedom.

Faith is something that you and I have.  But we can misplace faith by trusting in and leaning on the wrong person or the wrong thing.  We might trust our own wisdom.  We might go after the wrong person.  There are many ways, things and people that push our faith in.

There we have a different plan and a faith that will take us further than anything or anyone else.  Put your trust in God alone.  Trust Him.  It will take you to places and bring blessings like you have never expected.

Proverbs 3:5  NASB

Trust in the Lord with all your heart And do not lean on your own understanding.

Psalm 20:7  NIV

Some trust in chariots and some in horses, but we trust in the name of the Lord our God.

Faith is often a mystery.  Hebrews 11:6 reminds us that true faith is invisible or is in the invisible.  It will be seen in the way we live and speak.

Trust God.  Place your faith in the one who really loves us, can really change situations and will make life worth living.  Properly placed faith takes the object of our faith off us or ourselves and on God alone.

The name of God is powerful and differently that many other we might choose.  Examine what you have trusted in or what others have trusted.  Strong horses or good chariots will get you places that inferior things won’t, but the name of God will open door, give insight, and so much more.

I am grateful for faith.  I choose to give thanks to God.  I choose to give thanks each and every day.

Make this week count and join me again tomorrow for three days of Thanksgiving.

Have you heard of EDITH BURNS?

Edith Burns was a wonderful Christian who lived in San Antonio, Texas . She was the patient of a doctor by the name of Will Phillips. Dr. Phillips was a gentle doctor who saw patients as people. His favorite patient was Edith Burns.  One morning he went to his office with a heavy heart and it was because of Edith Burns.  When he walked into that waiting room, there sat Edith with her big black Bible in her lap earnestly talking to a young mother sitting beside her.  Edith Burns had a habit of introducing herself in this way: "Hello, my name is Edith Burns.  Do you believe in Easter?" Then she would explain the meaning of Easter, and many times people would be saved.  Dr. Phillips walked into that office and there he saw the head nurse, Beverly. Beverly had first met Edith when she was taking her blood pressure. Edith began by saying,"My name is Edith Burns. Do you believe in Easter?"  Beverly said, "Why yes I do."  Edith said, "Well, what do you ...

wash feet, sharing hope

John 13:4-5,14 NLT  So he got up from the table, took off his robe, wrapped a towel around his waist, 5 and poured water into a basin. Then he began to wash the disciples’ feet, drying them with the towel he had around him… 14 And since I, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you ought to wash each other’s feet. Jesus set the example we follow.  He served.  He valued and gave value to others.  That is why we choose to serve. For 18 years our church has shared an outreach called back2school, and for 16 of those years we have chosen to give students brand new shoes and socks as well as washing their feet.  It is one of the most important parts of this event. Washing feet is a humbling experience where both the give and the receiver learn how to share some moments that might change their lives.  Jesus said we should do this.  See the verse above.  Follow His example, do what He did, and give far more than you will ever know....
