Ephesians 3:20 NLT
Now all glory to God, who is able, through his mighty power at work within us, to accomplish infinitely more than we might ask or think.
There are so many times that we let our nature and our fear guide what we think and even our faith. Does that mean that we lack faith or don’t believe God?
Honestly, I believe the answer to both of those is YES. That hurts. Do you get it?
Throughout the Bible are stories of people who thought differently, thought bigger and thought outside of the way that most people thought. I believe God gave us a mind to use. God gives us creativity to use. Stop holding back.
For years I have shared about dreaming big and attempting big things and living by faith, but I will confess that over several years and through getting busy or even becoming complacent, it is easy to stop dreaming, stop taking risks and even to stop living by faith. Think about it!
2 Corinthians 5:7 NIV
For we live by faith, not by sight.
If I cannot see it, I cannot do it or understand it. That is just not true. God gives us the ability to live by faith and to trust God. What do you think we have missed when we choose to live short of faith, way short?
So I give us a couple thoughts and will dig in more this week to thinking and risking so that we can live out what real and strong faith looks like.
What faith is? Strong. Sees what others don’t see and seizes what is hoped for.
Hebrews 11:1,6 NLT
Faith shows the reality of what we hope for; it is the evidence of things we cannot see… And it is impossible to please God without faith. Anyone who wants to come to him must believe that God exists and that he rewards those who sincerely seek him.
What faith is not? Wavering. Not loyal to God. Not trusting God every day for more and for hope.
James 1:6 NLT
But when you ask him, be sure that your faith is in God alone. Do not waver, for a person with divided loyalty is as unsettled as a wave of the sea that is blown and tossed by the wind.
