What’s next? It seems one of the times of the year that is just strange or feels weird is the week between Christmas and New Year’s. What do you do with these days?
Do you travel? Do you work? Do you take down the Christmas decor or what? There are lots of answers, but I suggest we get ready for the new year. That can mean lots of different things too.
Pray. Read Scripture. Spend more time with those you care about. Make a plan of some things you want to see or accomplish in the next year.
Let me suggest a couple thoughts or plans that might help us all make 2025 the greatest year possible. Do note that the verses I share come from Proverbs (31 chapters, 31 days in many months… read a chapter each day).
Proverbs 16:9 NASB
The mind of a person plans his way, But the Lord directs his steps.
We do not known what might come our way in the new year or even the next day. Yet we can always trust God, and that is the challenge. Trusting God is not easy but always right.
Proverbs 3:5-6 NASB
Trust in the Lord with all your heart And do not lean on your own understanding. 6 In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He will make your paths straight.
What should we do because we don’t always know what is next? We should let God guide our steps, our planning, our thinking and more.
Learn to lean on God. Don’t trust our own thinking and reasoning. Trust God. Keep trusting God even when our human reasoning says otherwise, and you will be not disappointed.
I will leave you today, toward the end of this year with a very simple thought … since we don’t know what is next, let’s trust God. He knows.
We can trust God!
I challenge you to give your year end offering to the The Community Fellowship’s Christmas mission offering. Your gift helps us share the message of the Christ and meet needs. Go to www.thecommunityfellowship.org and click “give online” as well as choose missions or mail your gift to PO Box 388, Collinsville, VA 24078. Thank you for making a difference!
