It is almost a new year, and there are so many things that I am looking forward to. Some of those things are repeats of the past but great things. Some things will be new and exciting.
One of the things that I challenge those who love God to do is to make sure that building your faith through interacting with the Bible is one of the most important things. How do you spend time in the Word of God, the Bible?
Let’s look at a few of my thoughts about the Bible.
Colossians 3:15-16 NLT
And let the peace that comes from Christ rule in your hearts. For as members of one body you are called to live in peace. And always be thankful. 16 Let the message about Christ, in all its richness, fill your lives. Teach and counsel each other with all the wisdom he gives. Sing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs to God with thankful hearts.
By spending time in the word we will know His peace because we know His message.
Hebrews 4:12 NLT
For the word of God is alive and powerful. It is sharper than the sharpest two-edged sword, cutting between soul and spirit, between joint and marrow. It exposes our innermost thoughts and desires.
By spending time in the Bible, it comes alive, and it works in our lives to transform our lives.
Proverbs 3:5-6 NLT
Trust in the Lord with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding. 6 Seek his will in all you do, and he will show you which path to take.
By spending time in the word we trust in God more and lean less on our thinking and reasoning.
Matthew 5:3 NLT
“God blesses those who are poor and realize their need for him, for the Kingdom of Heaven is theirs.
It really is that simple. Spending time in the word of God reveals our need for God each and every day.
Finish this year strong and make next year even stronger!
