salvation truth

 


There is more to the Christian life than going to church or being a good person.  Realize that our salvation is totally based on what Jesus did for us and not what we do or how we act.  We cannot work our way to heaven or do anything to qualify for salvation.

 

Jesus is sole giver of salvation.  It was His sacrifice, His completed work, and the love of God that continues to do what we can’t and God can.  Take that in.  Share it with others.

 

Here is a reminder.  

 

John 3:14-17  NLT

And as Moses lifted up the bronze snake on a pole in the wilderness, so the Son of Man must be lifted up, 15 so that everyone who believes in him will have eternal life.   16 “For this is how God loved the world: He gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life. 17 God sent his Son into the world not to judge the world, but to save the world through him.

 

We have heard this for a long time.  We might have even seen some of those verses on billboards or on cards being handed out somewhere.  You might have seen John 3:16 painted on a guy’s chest at a football game in freezing weather.

 

Here is the point is… the Gospel is still the truth and how people receive salvation from God is still the same.  That is why this is worth sharing those who need Jesus.  We are blessed to be saved by God’s grace!

 

Galatians 2:8-9  NLT

God saved you by his grace when you believed. And you can’t take credit for this; it is a gift from God. 9 Salvation is not a reward for the good things we have done, so none of us can boast about it.

 

I am grateful for the reminders.  Let’s tell everyone!


Psalm 78:4  NLT  

We will not hide these truths from our children; we will tell the next generation about the glorious deeds of the Lord, about his power and his mighty wonders.

Have you heard of EDITH BURNS?

Edith Burns was a wonderful Christian who lived in San Antonio, Texas . She was the patient of a doctor by the name of Will Phillips. Dr. Phillips was a gentle doctor who saw patients as people. wash feet, sharing hope

  John 13:4-5,14 NLT  So he got up from the table, took off his robe, wrapped a towel around his waist, 5 and poured water into a basin. Then he began to wash the disciples’ feet, drying them with the towel he had around him… 14 And since I, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you ought to wash each other’s feet. Jesus set the example we follow.  He served.  He valued and gave value to others.  That is why we choose to serve. For 18 years our church has shared an outreach called back2school, and for 16 of those years we have chosen to give students brand new shoes and socks as well as washing their feet.  It is one of the most important parts of this event. Washing feet is a humbling experience where both the give and the receiver learn how to share some moments that might change their lives.  Jesus said we should do this.  See the verse above.  Follow His example, do what He did, and give far more than you will ever know....
