  These verses are some of the finest and strongest.  That is because they hold truth that will guide us now and for eternity.  I first looked at these many years ago.  They helped shape who I am, what I do and what I believe.   As you read through these verses take note of what sticks out to you.  It might reinforce what you believe or change it.  Let God speak.   Philippians 2:3-11  NLT Don’t be selfish; don’t try to impress others. Hello Community family and friends This Sunday we have another mission team joining us to work on the new campus.  Please pray for the team AND the completion of the buildings. We will be having a POT LUCK meal Sunday evening at 6:30pm.  The church will provide chicken and drinks.  Please bring SIDES and DESSERTS.  We will need lots of sides.  Bring enough for you plus at least 5 more people as we are feeding the mission team.   Who are the men that have influenced your life?  That list for me is a long one, yet there are a few that stand out or rise in my heart because of how God used them in my life and family. Sunday was Father’s Day.  It is a difficult one for those who have lost their fathers or who never had a father.  That is real for me as a couple of the men I think of have moved on to heaven.  May we be influencers and encourage others to do the same.   What a week it has been.  Our mission team is coming to the end of their time with us.  Our trek through Psalm 23 also comes to an end, and we move toward the weekend.  God has some things in store for each of us. Psalm 23 is an incredible piece of Scripture, literature, encouragement and even a gift from God.  As I shared early this week Psalm 23 is a treat from God, as our friend David Palmer shared at church Sunday.  I need these kind of treat and long for them Have you come to love Psalm 23 as I have?  As I said yesterday there are so many passages in the Bible that come to mind when I think of my favorites.  Yet there are few that are as well known as Psalm 23.   As we close out the week I give you the entire chapter from The Message translation of the Bible.  Some times it is a powerful reminder of what we might look over too quickly because it is common or typical.  This is good stuff.   Have you come to love Psalm 23 as I have?  There are so many passages in the Bible that come to mind when I think of my favorites.  Yet there are few that are on public display as much as Psalm 23.  Maybe John 3:16 and the Lord’s Prayer top it and a few others.  But this chapter is incredible.  It sticks out.  Literally. This week has brought lots of thoughts, and this chapter continues to find its way in to my mind.  We have a mission team in town working with us that is doing great things and a real blessing.  Pray for this team, the new campus and all the impact our church has.  It really is like Psalm 23 and its impact in the places it is shared.
