stop taking wrong turns

Be careful to avoid wrong turns.  It is easy to get lost or confused or just miss where you are headed.  There are lots of reasons why we get off track and take wrong turns as we travel.  The same very true for us spiritually. Proverbs 16:9  NLT   We can make our plans, but the Lord determines our steps. Proverbs 16:25  NLT   There is a path before each person that seems right, but it ends in death. It may seem like the right direction.  It might even feel right, but in the end you are literally in the wrong place, going the wrong way and have to make changes. What needs to change in our lives that will keep us on the right road?  Maybe it is like changing the GSP in your car or phone so that it leads you the right way.  Connect back to God for His direction and see that your life is headed the right way. This might be something we all need to be reminded of.  The wrong way or even just barely going in the wrong direction wil...

e-devotion from 2008

Over the next two weeks we are going to take a look back at e-devotions.  We will turn back time, and in these e-devotions I will pass on to you some that still speak to me.  Enjoy.  Share with others.  Pray for the impact of God’s truth on our lives. Thank you for allowing me to take some time off and still share with you these e-devotions as we turn back in time… This e-devotion was first shared on June 19, 2008: Psalm 34:8 NLT Taste and see that the Lord is good.  Oh, the joys of those who take refuge in him!   Psalm 69:32 NLT The humble will see their God at work and be glad.  Let all who seek God's help be encouraged. This has been a big week as God has worked in the ministry we are part of.  Yet Satan is often trying to get God's people to look away or be distracted from what God is doing.  We have to remember that Satan's plan is to take from us, and we have to see and know and claim that God's plan is to give to us (see John...

e-devotion from 2007

Over the next two weeks we are going to take a look back at e-devotions.  If I could turn back time, what would I want to share with you?  Well, here is my chance, and in these e-devotions I will pass on to you some that still speak to me.  Enjoy.  Share with others.  Pray for the impact of God’s truth on our lives. Thank you for allowing me to take some time off and still share with you these e-devotions as we turn back in time… This e-devotion was first shared on March 29, 2007: Push me. Drive me. Give me something to live for. That is what lots of church people expect from their leaders. Yet God has not called your church or mine to to meet all the needs and not even to feed you spiritual. God calls us to help people learn to eat spiritually, to love God and to chase after Him. I continue to be greatly challenged by Mark Batterson of National Community Church in DC. His book In the Pit with a Lion on a Snowy Day is top notch as shouting vision and giving cla...
