Picture # 6 "Ruth at The Jefferson Memorial" Picture # 7 "The Jefferson Memorial" What struck me the most about this one is his writings engraved on the walls. All about God and all pointing to God.... Picture # 8 "Jefferson continued" We went to church Saturday night at National Community Church where Mark Batterson is lead pastor. Their Saturday services are held at Ebenezer's Coffee House which they run (it was good). We arrived in DC early Friday and began our trip through the Captial (pictures to come on that one). Saturday was our trek through the National Malls and monuments. Here is the day in pictures (at the least the ones from my cell phone): Picture 1 "the Bird at Union Station" We continued our trip through the monuments seeing the Washington Monument, the reflection pool and onto the Lincoln Memorial. My Life Flashed Before My Eyes // Monday E-Devotion

My family just returned from a great weekend in our nation's capital. It was awesome with lots of fun and lots of good old fashioned family-bonding. Eye opening to say the least. 1 Peter 2:13 (nasb) --- Submit yourselves for the Lord's sake to every human institution, whether to a king as the one in authority, Romans 13:1 (nasb) ---- Every person is to be in subjection to the governing authorities For there is no authority except from God, and those which exist are established by God. Our first sight was the United States Capitol. A staff member from our congressman's office gave us a tour of this awesome place of history. We stood in places where great men and women have been. Lincoln, Jefferson, Bush, Harrison (the presidents, not me) and so many more. We sat for a moment in the room where congress meets and where the "State of the Union" address is given as I imagined the people and the happenings.
