power of love

Ephesians 6:19  NLT   May you experience the love of Christ, though it is too great to understand fully. Then you will be made complete with all the fullness of life and power that comes from God. We’ve only just begun.  Yes, that is part of a song.  I remember from my childhood, and there are are so many truths in that short phrase.   So many things we deal with in life take a lifetime or a long time to make happen.  It takes years for a human to grow up.  It takes time for a broken bone to mend.  It takes time for a broken heart to heal.  It takes time to learn a new language or to build a house. Some things take longer than others, and you may very well be like me and have very little patience.  Waiting is often hard.  But our God is always working even when the process is taking some time to be completed. In the middle of waiting someone is saying “we’ve only just begun”, and maybe God is saying “we’ve only just begun”.  Lo...

be a giver (and more)

There are many things to think about during this down time.  Wait, this is now down time.  This is being told to stay home time.  Maybe life has taken a weird turn for you as it has for others.  That simply means for a while things are going to be different.  But honestly many things may never be the same. Be a witness. Share your faith in your social media posts, in your daily interaction with no matter who you encounter.  Faith over fear.  Worship over worry.  Christ over all the chaos. Matthew 5:16  NASB Let your   light   shine   before men in such a way that they may see your good works, and...

story from Haiti

NOTE: I’d like to share with you a letter from Amanda Elgin who is a college student from The Community.   She went on a mission trip to Haiti last month.   Our church was honored to help with funds for the trip and prayed daily for the team she served with.   Enjoy reading her letter.   Pray for the people she talks about, and ask God to help you serve others both near and far. 2 Timothy 4:5   NLT But you should keep a clear mind in every situation. Don’t be afraid of suffering for the Lord. Work at tell ing others the Good News, and fully carry out the ministry God has given you. Dear Church Family and Friends, I want to thank each and every one of you for all the love, prayers, and support I have received as I went to Haiti.  From my first plane ride to dancing with some of God’s most precious angels the whole experience was a total blessing. Each child I held, each second I spent there, was part of the most life changing experience I ...
