It is not always easy to celebrate when everything around you tells you to do something else. You could be under the weather with health issues or behind the eight ball financially. Or, maybe you are run down by criticism or crushed by the weight of stress.
No matter the issues of life, God has a desire for His kids to celebrate even when the storms are at their height. Can you do that? It often requires perspective and spiritual motivation that can only come from God.
Lets kick the tires of this "power to celebrate" mode a little this morning:
Think God's thoughts and listen to His guidance ..."When people do not accept divine guidance, they run wild. But whoever obeys the law is happy." Proverbs 29:18 (NLT)
Remember, God's plans are awesome for you and me ... "For I know the plans I have for you," says the LORD. "They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope." Jeremiah 29:11 (NLT)
Thinking of the prodigal son, "for this son of mine was dead and has now returned to life. He was lost, but now he is found.' So the party began." Luke
The promise of heaven ... "The master was full of praise. `Well done, my good and faithful servant. You have been faithful in handling this small amount, so now I will give you many more responsibilities. Let's celebrate together!'" Matthew 25:21 (NLT)
Remember where you've been and go back ... "My heart is breaking as I remember how it used to be: I walked among the crowds of worshipers, leading a great procession to the house of God, singing for joy and giving thanks— it was the sound of a great celebration!" Psalms 42:4 (NLT)
The 'power to celebrate' is given mot by winning the lottery or by having people love you. This power comes when you choose to listen to what God says rather than what people say. It comes when you apply what God says about you and to you. Far too often when listen to our feelings and to the lies that keeps us miserable when we should know that the 'power to celebrate' is a gift from God.
So throw a party....God is good.
