“I cry out to God Most High, to God who will fulfill his purpose for me.” Psalms 57:2 (NLT)
Wrong question – What is God’s will for my life?
Right question – What is God’s will?
That is not original, and you most likely have heard it before. What we have to understand is that God created each of us for His pleasure and to glorify Him. Are we doing that? Do we understand that?
For several weeks now our small groups have taken another look at The Purpose Driven Life as we know that God’s purpose for us is His best and purpose for His church. We have to be willing to keep on finding His purpose for us. The promise is that if we seek, we will find. His promise, not ours. His will and His purpose, not ours.
Yes, God has individual desire and purpose for you and me, yet those individual things do not negate His big purpose for our lives. In fact those individual purposes fulfill and fill His big purpose for everyone of us. Think about it as you read this:
“His purpose in all of this was that the nations should seek after God and perhaps feel their way toward him and find him—though he is not far from any one of us.” Acts 17:27 (NLT)
How will you seek His purpose? How will you share His purpose with others? Why do that?
“God's purpose was to show his wisdom in all its rich variety to all the rulers and authorities in the heavenly realms. They will see this when Jews and Gentiles are joined together in his church. This was his plan from all eternity, and it has now been carried out through Christ Jesus our Lord.” Ephesians 3:10-11 (NLT)
