As you know, Proverbs has long been a great encourager of mine. This week is one of those chapters that really hits hard. It is Proverbs 27. Take a look at some of those verses:
2 Let someone else praise you, not your own mouth—a stranger, not your own lips.
17 As iron sharpens iron, so a friend sharpens a friend.
19 As a face is reflected in water, so the heart reflects the real person.
21 Fire tests the purity of silver and gold, but a person is tested by being praised.
23-24 Know the state of your flocks, and put your heart into caring for your herds, for riches don't last forever, and the crown might not be passed to the next generation.
Pride, Integrity, Honesty, Hard work, Learning...those are just of a few of the things that God not only expects our growth, but He sets us up to be better and better. More like Jesus. These verses point us to ways that God is working and will continue to work in our lives.
What do our lives reflect? Who are we allowing to influence us? Do we know the condition of our family or those we are responsible for? Good thoughts. God thoughts.
There is a word from the Father. It happens often when we start listening.
