Philippians 3:14-17 (New Living Translation) --- I press on to reach the end of the race and receive the heavenly prize for which God, through Christ Jesus, is calling us. Let all who are spiritually mature agree on these things. If you disagree on some point, I believe God will make it plain to you. But we must hold on to the progress we have already made. Dear brothers and sisters, pattern your lives after mine, and learn from those who follow our example.
Simple question: who are we acting like? I recently said in a message that one of the biggest things we hear as we grow up is this: you are just like your _________ (maybe Father or Mother, or the like). But who do our actions reflect.
Today I spent a great deal of time asking God to refine my life so that others will see Him more and MORE. Join me in that.
Paul said (in the verse above) some things we can learn from:
PRESS ON toward Jesus.
Seek be be MATURE in Jesus.
LISTEN UP to Jesus
FOLLOW someone who lives for Jesus.
That last one sounds arrogant. Paul says act like me. It is not arrogant. It is honest. We should be able to say the same to others! Can you? Can I?
Who are you acting like?
