tell the kids Jesus loves them (and meet Joseph Dayamba)

Whatever you do, do well. For when you go to the grave, there will be no work or planning or knowledge or wisdom.

Opportunities to help others come often.  I hear from people almost every day about situations in their lives that come up where they can share, serve and point people to Jesus.  As the verse above say, what you find to do must be done well.  Find more truth in the Bible about using your opportunities, serving others, looking out for those in need and so many more things.

I am encouraged by those reports.  To watch people share the love of Jesus is a phenomenal thing.  I mean we can do good things all the time that make us feel good, but it is not best until what we do come from a life motivated because of God's love for us and a desire to share His love with others.

This summer I was honored to meet Joseph Dayamba.  He and his family are from Burkino Faso, Africa where they lead children's ministry and have a school that is working with many Muslim children.  Some of those kids are meeting Jesus.  Learn more about Joseph via Facebook here and see the school and ministry here.

Sitting across the table from Joseph along with my brother, Steve, and another pastor we heard stories of changed lives.  Joseph told us about the struggle ministering in Muslim areas and with such stress.  This dude is committed to making a difference even when the work is very hard.  It is an honor to introduce you to Joseph.  My wife and I began to support them last month.  You can do that too.

I can tell you more stories about our back2school project or about the work my home church is doing at the school they have adopted or stories of all kinds of things.  But my point is not to tell you who is doing what.  My point is to remind you to look out for the children.  This is the time where they hear best the truth about Jesus.  Look at the statistics.  The majority of people who accept Jesus do it before they are 18.

What are you doing, what is your church doing to tell the kids about Jesus?  It takes only a little bit of time.  It won't even take any money.  You don't even have to do that with your church.  Volunteer through boys and girls clubs or with big brothers and sisters.  Maybe talk with people at your church to see what they are doing.  Start pouring your life in the kids.

Wait a minute.  One of the things that God reminds me of often is that I must first and foremost being pouring my life and faith into my own kids.  Are you doing that?  Or how about the neighbor kid who maybe doesn't have a dad at home?  Look around you.  There may be a child that needs Jesus near you already.

Then Jesus called for the children and said to the disciples, "Let the children come to me. Don't stop them! For the Kingdom of God belongs to those who are like these children.

Joseph Dayamba has a powerful testimony and is speaking into the lives of kids for Jesus.  Pray for Him, and if God leads you, begin to support what he is doing.  Go to http://africachildrenforjesus.com/ or you can talk with me about a way to make a big impact with them.  Remember Jesus said we need childlike faith to get into heaven.

Just do something to lead the kids to come to know Jesus!

Then he said, "I tell you the truth, unless you turn from your sins and become like little children, you will never get into the Kingdom of Heaven.

Have you heard of EDITH BURNS?

Edith Burns was a wonderful Christian who lived in San Antonio, Texas . She was the patient of a doctor by the name of Will Phillips. Dr. Phillips was a gentle doctor who saw patients as people. His favorite patient was Edith Burns.  One morning he went to his office with a heavy heart and it was because of Edith Burns.  When he walked into that waiting room, there sat Edith with her big black Bible in her lap earnestly talking to a young mother sitting beside her.  Edith Burns had a habit of introducing herself in this way: "Hello, my name is Edith Burns.  Do you believe in Easter?" Then she would explain the meaning of Easter, and many times people would be saved.  Dr. Phillips walked into that office and there he saw the head nurse, Beverly. Beverly had first met Edith when she was taking her blood pressure. Edith began by saying,"My name is Edith Burns. Do you believe in Easter?"  Beverly said, "Why yes I do."  Edith said, "Well, what do you

why is it Good Friday?

Holy Week is the time we focus on God and His gift of salvation.  We come to Friday.  The day we remember the cross, Jesus’ death and all God has done for you and me   Why do they call this day “Good Friday” because it doesn’t seems good?   Jesus was treated as a criminal.  He was beaten so much that He could not recognize Him.  His pain would have been too much for you or me to endure.  That is especially from Scripture I’ve read or as in the movie the  Passion of the Christ .   Yet it is a good day.  It is Good Friday because God had our good in His heart.  What Jesus did that day changed our forever direction. Here are some thoughts that come to me:   He is Redemption and Redeemer   He too our Pain and Punishment   He is our Righteousness and Reality   He is the Savior and Life   All of those happened from the cross.  It was meant for the worst lawbreakers.  It was not meant for a Savior who never broke a law.  It was lifted high so that onlookers could see the price Jesus.   Look

Day 8 in Cuba

We have just come off and incredible weekend, and it is day 8 of the mission trip in Cuba.  Thank you to all who have been praying for this trip, the mission team and the impact it will have on those we serve.   Please don’t stop praying. Last week Alex and I served with a mission team in the mountains of southern Cuba.  There were several challenges, but God gave us safety, provision and opportunity to serve some of the sweetest people I have ever met.  No running water… sporadic electricity generated by a small, logo dammed up river, no transportation other than animals, limited food sources and more.  These people love the Lord and sharing their faith with others. Over the weekend we made our way back to Havana.  On Friday our vehicle broke down leaving us on the side of the road for several hours.  We then boarded a bus and rode 14 hours.  We arrived safely and even got some rest. Sunday was so, so good.  We visited two partner churches.  In the morning we were with one church that
