let God work

Proverbs 4:20-22 NLT

My child, pay attention to what I say.  Listen carefully to my words. Don't lose sight of them.  Let them penetrate deep into your heart, for they bring life to those who find them,  and healing to their whole body.

Those are powerful words, and as I spend time with God this week, I am challenge to allow His word to go deeper into my life.  The word of God is intended to change us and to draw us closer to Him.  Letting God's word sink into our lives with touch many areas of which some are big and many are little.  But all are important.

If we listen to what God says, we will have more opportunities for life and strength.  That is what the Scripture says.  Right.  Are we allowing God's word to get into us?  By doing so, we will see God in ways that will bless other and bless those who come in contact with us.

The following verses are part of my prayer time today as well as part of the challenge for God to bless and change me as I follow Him.  Let these sink in.  Let God work in you.  I pray you and I both will do that.

Submit therefore to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you. Draw near to God and He will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners; and purify your hearts, you double-minded.
