Jesus died on Friday and on Sunday His grave was empty. That is a fact. Because of that point in history we have some truth that we can stand on. Let me take just a few minutes to pattern out the strength of our salvation so that we know that we know we saved and forgiven.
For it is by believing in your heart that you are made right with God, and it is by confessing with your mouth that you are saved.
But now you have been united with Christ Jesus. Once you were far away from God, but now you have been brought near to him through the blood of Christ.
Those are the facts. Nothing changes the facts. John 14:6 tells us that there is no other way to heaven and to be saved but through Jesus. If that is narrow minded, so be it. Those facts make my salvation secure. What an awesome thing it is that we know that we know.
Step a little further with me. If we know that we are saved, it will help us put some more padding with what we believe by knowing what God says about it. What does God say?
I have written this to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, so that you may know you have eternal life.
No power in the sky above or in the earth below—indeed, nothing in all creation will ever be able to separate us from the love of God that is revealed in Christ Jesus our Lord.
We know that we know Jesus and that God knows us by holding to the truth that God gives. This is not some feeling we get or emotion we have. This is the truth of God that we can hold on to and that holds on to us.
This hope is a strong and trustworthy anchor for our souls. It leads us through the curtain into God's inner sanctuary.
Even better than an anchor for a ship, the hope that God gives us and the truth that God has spoken tells us (and we must believe) that we know that we know because God has secured our salvation. It came through the life and dead of God's son, Jesus. It comes as we trust God to take care of our spiritual lives. Nothing can change those facts. Believe it. We know that we know because God said it. It is settled!
That you God for salvation that we know that we know. Period.
