boost of power from God

I also pray that you will understand the incredible greatness of God's power for us who believe him. This is the same mighty power that raised Christ from the dead and seated him in the place of honor at God's right hand in the heavenly realms.

Do you ever need a re-charge?  That is something to get you going or keep you going.  Maybe you have tried that 5 Hour Energy thing or some energy drink.  But often the power we need is something bigger and more powerful that a boost of something legal or illegal.

I can always rely on God.  His power is what we really need.  If you know Him, you know that He can give you the best kind of boost and day brightener.

This past weekend through our back2school outreach I got a shot of power, energy, strength, excitement and much more.  You understand that.  You understand that especially if you were here or were following the happenings.  Watching the kids and being around our volunteers was the best legal upper you could ever find.

Standing near the stage Sunday morning after worship was so sweet, but I got another shot as a teenage guy walked up to me and was ready to ask Jesus into his heart at that moment.  That is big time energy.

You've got to understand that I get tired.  Maybe you do too.  Staying busy.  Burning the candle at both ends.  You name it and even Christians have to deal with the fact that we have to maximize the boosts of energy that God gives us.  Take the next two verses and ask yourself the question: where am I getting my energy from?

For I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes, to the Jew first and also to the Greek.

Seeing somebody meet Jesus gives us a boost of power.  It is like being at the NASCAR race, at least for me.  Being around those fast cars and loud motors, I want to go fast.  I love that power and thrive on helping people meet Jesus.

"Cease striving and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth."

That verse doesn't use the word power, but it does.  When we stop and spend a few minutes or a day with God, He will power you up.  He will recharge your spiritual battery and your physical need for strength.

If you are like me, you need the power of God to see you through each and every day.  Let God give you energy, re-charge your battery and help you go higher with Him.  There is nothing like a boost of power from God.

For the Kingdom of God is not just a lot of talk; it is living by God's power.

Have you heard of EDITH BURNS?

Edith Burns was a wonderful Christian who lived in San Antonio, Texas . She was the patient of a doctor by the name of Will Phillips. Dr. Phillips was a gentle doctor who saw patients as people. His favorite patient was Edith Burns.  One morning he went to his office with a heavy heart and it was because of Edith Burns.  When he walked into that waiting room, there sat Edith with her big black Bible in her lap earnestly talking to a young mother sitting beside her.  Edith Burns had a habit of introducing herself in this way: "Hello, my name is Edith Burns.  Do you believe in Easter?" Then she would explain the meaning of Easter, and many times people would be saved.  Dr. Phillips walked into that office and there he saw the head nurse, Beverly. Beverly had first met Edith when she was taking her blood pressure. Edith began by saying,"My name is Edith Burns. Do you believe in Easter?"  Beverly said, "Why yes I do."  Edith said, "Well, what do you ...

wash feet, sharing hope

John 13:4-5,14 NLT  So he got up from the table, took off his robe, wrapped a towel around his waist, 5 and poured water into a basin. Then he began to wash the disciples’ feet, drying them with the towel he had around him… 14 And since I, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you ought to wash each other’s feet. Jesus set the example we follow.  He served.  He valued and gave value to others.  That is why we choose to serve. For 18 years our church has shared an outreach called back2school, and for 16 of those years we have chosen to give students brand new shoes and socks as well as washing their feet.  It is one of the most important parts of this event. Washing feet is a humbling experience where both the give and the receiver learn how to share some moments that might change their lives.  Jesus said we should do this.  See the verse above.  Follow His example, do what He did, and give far more than you will ever know....
