be ready for the attack of the enemy

Sunday was awesome as 23 people were baptized and almost 300 people came to celebrate all God has done the last 5 years as well as what God will do in the future.  But do you realize that when you walk toward God and when God begins to work in your life that our enemy is anger.

When you walk toward God you need to be ready for the attack of our enemy.  Satan is not happy.  Baptizing that many people angered our enemy in ways we might not understand, and Satan gets mad.  So, the attack of the enemy has begun.

He will attack in ways we see and in ways we don't see.  If Satan can't get us by sending missiles and attacks from the outside, he will work from the inside.  You and I have seen this in church life before and in families.  We have seen people, churches and families torn apart in horrible ways as they unravel from the inside out.  We need to be ready for the attack of the enemy.

There are some things each of us can do to be ready for this attack.  We need to be unified with other Christians.  We need to expect the attacks and be ready to deal with them.  We need to be praying daily for God's help and wisdom.  It is further evident that we must be in the word, in the Bible more and more and more.

Hear from another point of view:

Be of sober spirit, be on the alert. Your adversary, the devil, prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour.

in addition to all, taking up the shield of faith with which you will be able to extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one.

And knowing their thoughts Jesus said to them, "Any kingdom divided against itself is laid waste; and any city or house divided against itself will not stand.

You get my point, and you get the point that God made.  I will be getting on my knees more in the coming hours and days than I have in a long time.  Do the same.  We need God's word and wisdom.  We need His direction and His hand on this ministry.

Realize Satan wants you and I to fail, and he is doing all he can to make that happen.  Realize God wants you and I to succeed, and God has positioned us for greatness.  I believe this with all my heart.  That means we must live like it is true.

But if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all generously and without reproach, and it will be given to him.

I've said enough.  Praise God for His help when we are ready for the attack of the enemy.

Have you heard of EDITH BURNS?

Edith Burns was a wonderful Christian who lived in San Antonio, Texas . She was the patient of a doctor by the name of Will Phillips. Dr. Phillips was a gentle doctor who saw patients as people. His favorite patient was Edith Burns.  One morning he went to his office with a heavy heart and it was because of Edith Burns.  When he walked into that waiting room, there sat Edith with her big black Bible in her lap earnestly talking to a young mother sitting beside her.  Edith Burns had a habit of introducing herself in this way: "Hello, my name is Edith Burns.  Do you believe in Easter?" Then she would explain the meaning of Easter, and many times people would be saved.  Dr. Phillips walked into that office and there he saw the head nurse, Beverly. Beverly had first met Edith when she was taking her blood pressure. Edith began by saying,"My name is Edith Burns. Do you believe in Easter?"  Beverly said, "Why yes I do."  Edith said, "Well, what do you ...

wash feet, sharing hope

John 13:4-5,14 NLT  So he got up from the table, took off his robe, wrapped a towel around his waist, 5 and poured water into a basin. Then he began to wash the disciples’ feet, drying them with the towel he had around him… 14 And since I, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you ought to wash each other’s feet. Jesus set the example we follow.  He served.  He valued and gave value to others.  That is why we choose to serve. For 18 years our church has shared an outreach called back2school, and for 16 of those years we have chosen to give students brand new shoes and socks as well as washing their feet.  It is one of the most important parts of this event. Washing feet is a humbling experience where both the give and the receiver learn how to share some moments that might change their lives.  Jesus said we should do this.  See the verse above.  Follow His example, do what He did, and give far more than you will ever know....
