Typically
the next step is not a big deal. It is
if the next step is off the side of the cliff or in to deep water or the
like. Some steps are risky, but I’ve
come to understand that taking risk takes you places you would never go if you
“play it safe” or if you won’t step out of your comfort zone.
In Mark Batterson’s book The Circle Maker he talks
about many things and people who have taken risks. One of those is Moses. Moses took risks to lead God’s people in a
new direction that would bless them forever.
“Moses' willingness to look foolish resulted in epic miracles -
exodus out of Egypt, parting Red Sea, and the quail miracle.” Does that make sense? Moses life was full of encounters that led him
to take risky steps and to lead others to live by the same faith.
It is pleasant to see dreams come
true, but fools refuse to turn from evil to attain them.
Trust in the LORD with all your heart;
do not depend on your own understanding.
So be strong and courageous, all you
who put your hope in the LORD!
What are the next steps you want to take that will require
faith? What are the steps that if you
take them without God’s help, you will fail and with God’s help you will have
huge success? Maybe God is leading you
to take risky steps by living by faith.
Behind your biggest issues or problems or biggest fears might be
your biggest success or your dreams come true.
Don’t let your issues keep you from being who God made you to be. Don’t miss the best that God has for you
because of your fear. Take the
step. Live by faith. See what God will do in and around you life.
When our enemies and the surrounding
nations heard about it, they were frightened and humiliated. They realized this
work had been done with the help of our God.
