Hard to believe that there is only one month left in 2012. The holiday season is ahead of us, and there is so much to do, so much has been done and lots to remember. Plus there is much, very much to give thanks for.
This year has brought lots of blessings and learning. But if we look further than the last 11 months, we will find even more to be thankful for. This is the week of Thanksgiving. This is time for being thankful, but if we are honest, some of us need to change our attitude so we can be thankful.
Here are some thoughts about having an attitude of giving-thanks.
Devote yourselves to prayer with an alert mind and a thankful heart.
Giving-thanks is a choice we make before we give thanks.
It is good to give thanks to the Lord, to sing praises to the Most High.
Giving-thanks is a good thing. In fact being thankful is a characteristic of the people who follow God.
Give thanks to the Lord and proclaim his greatness. Let the whole world know what he has done.
When we recognize how good God is, we will be known for giving-thanks. It will also let others see how good and gracious God is.
Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good! His faithful love endures forever.
Our Christian walk is not found in our experiences. It is found in our faith in God. It is built on the truth of God that we find in the Bible. May we be known as people who this week and often, even daily are giving-thanks.
