now and later

(NOTE: I like banana)

When we come face to face with God’s grace, we cannot stay the same.  If you have come face to face with God and were not changed, you better check who you came face to face with.  In the accounts of where people met God in the Bible, the people fell on their faces and began to praise God with all they are.

At this, Abram fell face down on the ground. Then God said to him,

Then the LORD opened Balaam’s eyes, and he saw the angel of the LORD standing in the roadway with a drawn sword in his hand. Balaam bowed his head and fell face down on the ground before him.

Acts 9:4
NLT
He fell to the ground and heard a voice saying to him, “Saul! Saul! Why are you persecuting me?”

Some of those people went from fierce opponents of God to chief evangelist.  Some people went cautious onlookers to committed disciples.  All of them went from sitting on the sidelines to getting in the game.

The question for you and me is this: are you ready to get in the game?  Where you changed by and charged up by the grace of God?

God is continuing to change me.  Is He changing you?  Fact is the change happens as we allow God to work.  By not properly dearly with our fear or being uneasy about faith we will miss what God has for us and how big our future is.  Do we fear the future or are we ready for it?

Beloved, now we are children of God, and it has not appeared as yet what we will be. We know that when He appears, we will be like Him, because we will see Him just as He is.

HOPE is our word.  When we see things the way God sees them we will get excited about our future, and we will have a much better perspective about our present time.  Too many Christians hate their life as it is.  Little to nothing excites us because of the pain or struggles that we are in now.  But God has a plan.

Like Romans 8 says the stuff we deal with now is nothing compared to how great the future is going to be.  It might just be time to reexamine our lives or even change our outlook on life.  Do we see things as God sees them?

But the LORD said to Samuel, "Do not look at his appearance or at the height of his stature, because I have rejected him; for God sees not as man sees, for man looks at the outward appearance, but the LORD looks at the heart."

May God help us see things from His perspective.  May we see how awesome the future will be.  May we see how our present situation is shaping our future.  By allowing God to change our perspective, now and later we will be blessed.  Join me in living a blessed life now and later!

wash feet, sharing hope

John 13:4-5,14 NLT  So he got up from the table, took off his robe, wrapped a towel around his waist, 5 and poured water into a basin. Then he began to wash the disciples’ feet, drying them with the towel he had around him… 14 And since I, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you ought to wash each other’s feet. Jesus set the example we follow.  He served.  He valued and gave value to others.  That is why we choose to serve. For 18 years our church has shared an outreach called back2school, and for 16 of those years we have chosen to give students brand new shoes and socks as well as washing their feet.  It is one of the most important parts of this event. Washing feet is a humbling experience where both the give and the receiver learn how to share some moments that might change their lives.  Jesus said we should do this.  See the verse above.  Follow His example, do what He did, and give far more than you will ever know....

Have you heard of EDITH BURNS?

Edith Burns was a wonderful Christian who lived in San Antonio, Texas . She was the patient of a doctor by the name of Will Phillips. Dr. Phillips was a gentle doctor who saw patients as people. His favorite patient was Edith Burns.  One morning he went to his office with a heavy heart and it was because of Edith Burns.  When he walked into that waiting room, there sat Edith with her big black Bible in her lap earnestly talking to a young mother sitting beside her.  Edith Burns had a habit of introducing herself in this way: "Hello, my name is Edith Burns.  Do you believe in Easter?" Then she would explain the meaning of Easter, and many times people would be saved.  Dr. Phillips walked into that office and there he saw the head nurse, Beverly. Beverly had first met Edith when she was taking her blood pressure. Edith began by saying,"My name is Edith Burns. Do you believe in Easter?"  Beverly said, "Why yes I do."  Edith said, "Well, what do you ...
