Life
is full of ups and downs, celebrations and sad times, weddings, births and
funerals. Everyone goes through some
difficult things in life, but the question is how will we do with such times? When you need help, who do you go to or where
do you look for it?
I look up to the mountains- does my help come from
there? My help comes from the
Lord, who made heaven and earth! He will
not let you stumble; the one who watches over you will not slumber.
Each
day presents itself with the obstacles that I have to deal with. The last two days I have watched God work in
some people’s lives in tremendous ways.
Watching and experiencing people follow God really is amazing and
inspiring. Yet there are also those
times when you lose someone close to you, and their death is not expected. Much pain comes from their death as well.
I
experienced both of those things yesterday through the lives of people close to
me. Both have been to the Lord for help
and wisdom. Both know the joy of
following Jesus as well as the pain that comes with living life.
In
every one of those places we need the help of God. We need to know that personally, and we can
and must help others find their help in God.
We cannot make people go to God, but we can through our encouragement,
our testimony and our life help people seek God. People all around us are looking. They are looking for help and wisdom, for
direction or peace, for strength or learning.
God holds all of those things.
The
promises of God are as true today as they were when they were given. Have you found that to be true? If you have, share your journey with others. Where all are people looking for help? There are many, many answers to that
question, but God has the best and only answers.
I have
found that in God there is peace that can’t come from anywhere else. In the middle of pain, God can and will give
you peace. In the middle of praise or
celebration, God will give you peace. In
life, all of life, God will give you peace.
But that peace only comes from God as we look to Him and seek Him. I desire to have that peace and help others
find that peace.
What
does my help come from? It only comes
from God!
