tell them, give life

Job 33:4  NLT
For the Spirit of God has made me, and the breath of the Almighty gives me life.

If there is someone you care about, tell them.  If there is someone you are worried about and need to warn, tell them.  If there is a person you love and have yet to let them know, tell them.

That might not be the easiest thing in the world, but when the truth is spoken and life is shared, that person will have light and strength that they may have been missing before.  Just as God gives life to us we can give life to others by sharing the truth and sharing God’s love.

Because you trusted me, I will give you your life as a reward.  I will rescue you and keep you safe.  I, the Lord, have spoken!’

I meet people each week who cannot look up.  Life has become a serious of lows and bad situations that they see as trouble or describing them as worthless.  Yet the fact is that God has rescued us and will continue to do the same.

And I charge you before God, who gives life to all, and before Christ Jesus, who gave a good testimony before Pontius Pilate,

Have you ever gotten good news that fired you up?  It was one of those times or situations that changed everything.  Maybe it’s like winning the lottery and going from poor to rich in seconds.  Or maybe it’s like hearing that you have months or days to live, and then you learn that a miracle has happened making you 100% well.

God gives us life.  He speaks life into our lives not only being our creator but by being our God and our friend.  God is for us, and we have been told that over and over.  We can believe that fact.  God is for us, and there are people trying to speak life into our lives each day.  Are we listening?

And we know that the Son of God has come, and he has given us understanding so that we can know the true God.  And now we live in fellowship with the true God because we live in fellowship with his Son, Jesus Christ.  He is the only true God, and he is eternal life.

It is time that we speak up.  It is time to tell them.  God has given us the truth and given us words to speak into the lives of the people we come in contact with.  If we tell them the truth, we will give them life.  If we speak us, we see God change lives.

Too many people are dealers of death, but God is a giver of life.  Do our words tear people down or build them up?  Are we giving life or death with how we interact with the people around us?

I believe my calling is to speak life, to encourage people and to call out the best in the people around us.  The only way that I can call out the best in people is to believe what God says and to seek higher ground in the way I deal with myself and the way I deal with others.

Don’t stay where you are.  Step up.  Tell them what you believe and give life to the people you interact with!

Have you heard of EDITH BURNS?

Edith Burns was a wonderful Christian who lived in San Antonio, Texas . She was the patient of a doctor by the name of Will Phillips. Dr. Phillips was a gentle doctor who saw patients as people. His favorite patient was Edith Burns.  One morning he went to his office with a heavy heart and it was because of Edith Burns.  When he walked into that waiting room, there sat Edith with her big black Bible in her lap earnestly talking to a young mother sitting beside her.  Edith Burns had a habit of introducing herself in this way: "Hello, my name is Edith Burns.  Do you believe in Easter?" Then she would explain the meaning of Easter, and many times people would be saved.  Dr. Phillips walked into that office and there he saw the head nurse, Beverly. Beverly had first met Edith when she was taking her blood pressure. Edith began by saying,"My name is Edith Burns. Do you believe in Easter?"  Beverly said, "Why yes I do."  Edith said, "Well, what do you ...

wash feet, sharing hope

John 13:4-5,14 NLT  So he got up from the table, took off his robe, wrapped a towel around his waist, 5 and poured water into a basin. Then he began to wash the disciples’ feet, drying them with the towel he had around him… 14 And since I, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you ought to wash each other’s feet. Jesus set the example we follow.  He served.  He valued and gave value to others.  That is why we choose to serve. For 18 years our church has shared an outreach called back2school, and for 16 of those years we have chosen to give students brand new shoes and socks as well as washing their feet.  It is one of the most important parts of this event. Washing feet is a humbling experience where both the give and the receiver learn how to share some moments that might change their lives.  Jesus said we should do this.  See the verse above.  Follow His example, do what He did, and give far more than you will ever know....
