becoming a reality (our new campus)

Then make me truly happy by agreeing wholeheartedly with each other, loving one another, and working together with one mind and purpose.

One week from now a team of experts will be in our town for one specific purpose, and they will work as a team to accomplish more together than they can do alone.  The planning for their trip has been happening for sometime.  But it is becoming a reality.

Between 60 and 80 skilled carpenters will come to our new campus and begin the process of framing much of the children’s area and sanctuary.  I am so excited.  This has been in the works for a long time, and what we are about to experience is going to impact lives for years to come and help people come to meet Jesus.

The property that used to be “American Standard Building Systems” was purchased by The Community Fellowship last May for significantly less than what the property is worth.  That is one of the first miracles we saw.  Since that time we have been cleaning and preparing, but now is the time to take a step of faith and begin building.

Will you join me as we prepare for the mission team to come to today?

Pray for the team’s safety.  They will travel to Henry County from several different states.  They will be working to frame out classrooms, hallways and our sanctuary. Pray for their safety.

Pray for the resources.  There are many things that have to come together.  This was where houses were built, and now this will be a place where needs are met, lives are built and people find Jesus.  We need building materials, workers, money to use for construction as well as for continuing ministry.

Give to make this all happen.  Please consider giving to The Community’s vision fund to help our new campus become a reality.  Go to this website (https://tcf.ccbchurch.com/trx_submit.php?type=public_gift), click Vision Fund and give your best gift.  You can also mail your gift to The Community’s Vision Fund at PO Box 388, Collinsville, VA 24078.  We need approximately $40,000 more dollars to get through this first stage of the building process.  Thank you for your help.

Finally, pray for the vision of our church to continue to grow, get stronger and be able to help more people in our community and beyond.  Meeting needs and demonstrating the love of God to our community is what God has told us to do.  There are many people who are hungry, hunting and homeless that need us to be prepared to serve.  Growing makes this even more of a reality.

We’ve helped thousands of people in the past, and the future is full of even more people who will be served and whose lives will be changed.  This is not about one church serving and sharing.  This is about churches partnering together to impact people for Jesus.  Please share our story with others and join us in telling people how good our God is!

So on October 2 the wall was finished—just fifty-two days after we had begun.

Acts 4:13  NLT
The members of the council were amazed when they saw the boldness of Peter and John, for they could see that they were ordinary men with no special training in the Scriptures.  They also recognized them as men who had been with Jesus.

Catalyst ticket arrived

My ticket to the Catalyst Conference, in Atlanta Oct 8-10, just arrived. I'm excited!

wash feet, sharing hope

John 13:4-5,14 NLT  So he got up from the table, took off his robe, wrapped a towel around his waist, 5 and poured water into a basin. Then he began to wash the disciples’ feet, drying them with the towel he had around him… 14 And since I, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you ought to wash each other’s feet. Jesus set the example we follow.  He served.  He valued and gave value to others.  That is why we choose to serve. For 18 years our church has shared an outreach called back2school, and for 16 of those years we have chosen to give students brand new shoes and socks as well as washing their feet.  It is one of the most important parts of this event. Washing feet is a humbling experience where both the give and the receiver learn how to share some moments that might change their lives.  Jesus said we should do this.  See the verse above.  Follow His example, do what He did, and give far more than you will ever know....

Have you heard of EDITH BURNS?

Edith Burns was a wonderful Christian who lived in San Antonio, Texas . She was the patient of a doctor by the name of Will Phillips. Dr. Phillips was a gentle doctor who saw patients as people. His favorite patient was Edith Burns.  One morning he went to his office with a heavy heart and it was because of Edith Burns.  When he walked into that waiting room, there sat Edith with her big black Bible in her lap earnestly talking to a young mother sitting beside her.  Edith Burns had a habit of introducing herself in this way: "Hello, my name is Edith Burns.  Do you believe in Easter?" Then she would explain the meaning of Easter, and many times people would be saved.  Dr. Phillips walked into that office and there he saw the head nurse, Beverly. Beverly had first met Edith when she was taking her blood pressure. Edith began by saying,"My name is Edith Burns. Do you believe in Easter?"  Beverly said, "Why yes I do."  Edith said, "Well, what do you ...
