This week we honor Betty Hobbs at The Community Fellowship’s Volunteer of the Week!
Betty Hobbs and her husband Frank have attended The Community Fellowship for 5 years. Betty volunteers in a number of ministries at the church, both through the week and during our outreach events.
Weekdays Betty can be found volunteering in our Clothes Closet organizing donations, which she has often helped to unload and bring into the proper locations. She works diligently to make sure the clothes are displayed orderly so the community can easily find the items they need during the 2nd Saturday Clothes Closet ministry and also during the week when people find themselves in emergency situations.
Betty is our back up receptionist, being quick to step in and fill a need whenever the opportunity presents itself. She serves in our kitchen during outreach ministries and recently prepared many hot dogs and hamburgers during an outdoor event the church hosted.
At our annual back2school event Betty typically volunteers on Fridays showing the love of Jesus to the families we are blessed to minister to who have special needs and spend time with them.
While she is not serving others, Betty enjoys the outdoors while sitting on her deck. She also likes to sew, spend time with her family, travel and dance with her 10-year-old granddaughter, Emma.
Betty’s favorite Bible verse is John 10:10, “The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.”
We are indeed honored to recognize Betty Hobbs as our Volunteer of the Week. Thank you, Betty for all you do to show the love of God to our community!
