This week is Valentine’s Day. Love is one of the greatest things we do and
is the greatest things we get from God.
Thus, I share with you something I wrote several years ago…
"Love
is the greatest source of transformation" -- Matthew Barnett
I am amazed as I go
through our annual survey given to people at The Community (if you have not
filled one out, send me an email and I will send you one or it can be picked up
at church). Some great responses. But one of the overlying things that
can easily be seen is that God is calling us to reach people who not being
reached in our area...the homeless and those living in poverty and the like.
This is a true calling
that the Lord has given us. We are seeing more of our people respond to
this call, and more and more people are asking to be part of the
ministry. In fact, from the desk I sit at and the place where I pray, I
see that God has set us up for such a time as this for such a ministry as this.
Please pray with me that
we would dig in deep and follow with complete obedience what it is to really
reach people that are in need.
Here are some of my
prayers for me and those I serve with:
Proverbs 21:26 NLT
Some people are always greedy for more, but the godly
love to give!
Love never gives up, never loses faith, is always
hopeful, and endures through every circumstance.
1 John 3:16 NLT
We know what real love is because Jesus gave up his life
for us. So we also ought to give up our lives for our brothers and sisters.
"They
see God when you love on people that are different than you" -- Dave Gibbons
