Our world is in
need of great leaders. I am not talking
about leaders of nations but of homes, businesses, communities, ball teams,
civic clubs, churches and more. You most
likely get where I am going with that.
They share freely and give generously
to those in need. Their good deeds will be remembered forever. They will have influence and honor.
Great leaders have built in to them
high character and passion, but great leaders are also led and built by other
great leaders. That is why I am taking
some time today to give you some statements to think about.
Many of these would be classified as
“words to live by” or “leadership wisdom”, but whatever you call them, we need
men and women who make a choice to lead well.
As you read through these quotes and thoughts, I pray God helps you
ingest them and that they ignite a fire for you to serve and lead others.

“The ultimate measure of a man is not where he stands in moments of
comfort, but where he stands at times of challenge and controversy.” ~ Martin Luther King, Jr.
“Leadership is not about titles, positions or flowcharts. It is about
one life influencing another.” ~ John C. Maxwell
“The secret of leadership is simple: Do what you believe in. Paint a
picture of the future. Go there. People will follow.” ~ Seth Godin
“But God doesn't call us to be
comfortable. He calls us to trust Him so completely that we are unafraid to put
ourselves in situations where we will be in trouble if He doesn't come
through.” ~ Francis Chan
“The trap the enemy wants us to fall
into is worshiping the blessings rather than the Blessor.” ~ Robert Morris
“Whether we write lyrics or craft
legislation, sell homes or teach classes, design spaces or open franchises,
prayer is a critical part of the creative process. Don’t just brainstorm;
praystorm.” ~
Mark Batterson
“We can be tired, weary and emotionally
distraught, but after spending time alone with God, we find that He injects
into our bodies energy, power and strength.” ~ Charles
F. Stanley
“Don’t just delegate tasks to the next generation. If you
delegate tasks, you create followers. Instead, delegate authority to create
leaders.” ~ Craig Groeschel
“You have to be burning with an idea, or a problem, or a wrong that you
want to right. If you're not passionate enough from the start, you'll never
stick it out.” ~ Steve Jobs
Where there is no vision, the people are unrestrained, But happy is he who keeps the law.
Dear friend, don’t let this bad example
influence you. Follow only what
is good. Remember that those who do good prove that they are God’s children,
and those who do evil prove that they do not know God.
