Why do we continually allow things and people to rob of us of our joy? Joy is something that each of us want. Joy is the celebration or the satisfaction that rests inside of us and allows us to have peace and to enjoy life.
God intends to be the best one to give us joy, yet the problem is we often expect the things of life, situations around us or various people to be our joy or to give us joy. God created us to enjoy Him. God created us to have joy that comes inside us. Joy is to be found within our connection to God that overflows in our lives, in the good and bad of life.
Nehemiah 8:10 NASB
Then he said to them, “Go, eat of the fat, drink of the sweet, and send portions to him who has nothing prepared; for this day is holy to our Lord. Do not be grieved, for the joy of the Lord is your strength.”
This day is God’s. Don’t let anything or anyone steal your joy! The incredible Carlos Whittaker has a way of saying things. Being a worship leader and a creative dude his words have impacted me for years. He wrote a post titled “YOU WERE CREATED TO FEEL EXACTLY THIS”.
Read on and let God be your joy!
We were created for joy.
We were created to jump up and down and shake our fists at the sky in utter disbelief that we are so lucky to be alive.
We were created to FEEL.
If it has been a while since you have felt the utter joy that this little girl felt when opening this gift…
Or if it has never been felt…
It is available to you.
Not only is it available to you…
It is INSIDE YOU WAITING TO COME OUT.
You got this.
You can find this.
Don’t stop exploring until you do.
Jeremiah 15:16 NASB
Your words were found and I ate them, And Your words became for me a joy and the delight of my heart; For I have been called by Your name, O Lord God of hosts.
